Surprise! Beyonce's visual album is now on iTunes.

If, like me, you spent the long weekend trying to decide whether or not to sign up to Tidal so you could listen to Beyonce’s new album, fret no more.

This morning, the Drunk in Love singer announced on Instagram that her new visual album “Lemonade” is now available on iTunes and Amazon.

Finally, finally we can see what all this ‘Becky with the good hair’ fuss is about. We shall no longer hide in the shadows, wondering what the heck is up with all of this ‘did Jay Z cheat with Rachel Roy’ drama. Once again we can be up to date with Queen Bey-related pop culture references. The world is good again.

The album, which was released on Saturday night as part of an HBO special, caused many a rumour in the lead up to it. Would Jay Z and Beyonce announced their split at the culmination of the special? Was Bey pregnant again? Instead we were gifted with a 65 minute celebration of coloured women and song after song throwing shade at Jay Z, and Beyonce's father, Mathew Knowles.

Between songs, the album is riddled with home videos including Beyonce when she was pregnant with Blue Ivy and Bey and Jay Z cutting the cake at their 2008 wedding.  We also hear spoken word segments from the Grammy winner, about what the songs mean to her and she describes why she chose 'Lemonade' as the title of the album: As a dedication to her grandmother.

“Take one pint of water, add a half pound of sugar, the juice of eight lemons, the zest of half lemon. Pour the water into one, then to another several times. Strain through a clean napkin. Grandmother. The alchemist. You spun gold out of this hard life. Conjured beauty from the things left behind. Found healing where it did not live. Discovered the antidote in your own kitchen. Broke the curse with your own two hands. You passed these instructions down to your daughter, who then passed them down to her daughter.”

While Tidal, the Jay Z-owned streaming service, is still the only way we can watch "Lemonade" online, we would like to thank iTunes and Amazon for allowing us to jam to these tunes anywhere, anytime.
