We asked the Mamamia team for their best furniture finds. These 10 came up again and again.

IKEA
Thanks to our brand partner, IKEA

I just bought my first home.

And by home, I definitely mean apartment. And by "I", I definitely mean "we". But you get what I mean.

For 15 years, I moved from share house to share house, filling my space with street-found furniture and hand-me-downs. But now, as a fully grown adult with a mortgage (!!!) and my own space, I'm finally ready to buy nice things.

So, naturally, I turned to the communal brains trust (my Mamamia colleagues) to help me furnish the new place.

When I asked them to share their best furniture finds, the place that kept popping up was IKEA. And I can see why.

IKEA's been striking the balance between tasteful yet affordable furniture and organisation ideas for over 50 years in Australia. From smart storage solutions to statement pieces, the Swedish retailer really is choc-a-bloc with excellent home finds.

But it's not just the amazing furniture and homeware products my colleagues couldn't stop talking about, there are a bunch of great customer perks too. Like the free IKEA Family loyalty program which you can use in-store, online and through the app.

New members score a $10 welcome voucher, plus access to member-only discounts and food offers like Happy Days. Members can also collect reward keys which unlock all kinds of handy, helpful and tasty rewards. Like money off delivery and assembly or even a free meatball meal, simply through interactions like logging onto the website and making a wishlist.

So, if you're in the market for a few new furniture pieces, consider this your shopping list shortcut.

"This chair is my boyfriend's prized possession. He's colour blind and thought he was buying a black one — but it turned out to be green. Honestly, once I got over the fact that he has a say in our furniture style, I came to love the vintage vibe it adds." – Kelsey, Senior Brand Partnerships Executive.

BILLY Bookcase, from $129.

"This bookshelf is such a classic — it just works in every room. It's affordable, sturdy and looks way more expensive once it's styled. I've had mine for years and still love it." – Morgan, Partner Strategy Manager.

IDÅSEN Cabinet, $399.

"I'm obsessed with dark green and this cabinet is such a vibe. I used to have it in my office to store all my camera gear — like most IKEA furniture, you can customise the shelves to suit whatever you need. I also love the little lip around the top, so anything I chuck on there actually stays put." – Julian, Video Producer.

SKUBB Box, $9.

MALM Chest of Drawers, $329.

"These chest of drawers (especially in the stained oak colour) add instant warmth and style to any room. Pop a mirror above it, some dried flowers (or real plants, if you're a saint) and a cute lamp on top to instantly make it a focal point. They're roomy without feeling bulky and taking over the whole space." – Keeley, Branded Content Executive.
