As Big Ben chimed 4pm on Sunday, dozens of Muslim women stood shoulder to shoulder on Westminster Bridge in a silent show of respect for the victims of last week’s terror attack.
Joined by women of various backgrounds from across Britain, the group linked arms to form a human chain at the very site where 52-year-old Khalid Masood claimed four lives on Wednesday.
“When an attack happens in London, it is an attack on me,” Sarah Waseem, an Ahmadiyya Muslim from Surrey told The Mirror.
“It is an attack on all of us. Islam totally condemns violence of any sort. This is abhorrent to us.”
Another participant, Fariha Khan, said the horror of last week’s attack still lingered.

"We thought of the ordinary people who were here and were mown down, standing here like this. It was very overwhelming."
