How your favourite celebrities were honoured on Mother's Day.

Most mums (well, my mum at least) are happy to spend Mother’s Day receiving partially destroyed flowers, incomprehensible cards, and rogue gifts covered in snot. But for the celebrities, Mother’s Day is something like the movie Mother’s Day – over the top and glamorous, (apart from that goddam hideous wig).

So let’s take a look at how our favourite celebrities spent Mother’s Day, so we can spend today tormented by guilt that we definitely didn’t do enough for our own mums.

As most of us know, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen became first-time parents to baby Luna a mere matter of weeks ago. And John Legend, being the ultimate romantic, was sure to make Chrissy’s first Mother’s Day extra special. LOOK. AT. THESE. PHOTOS.

Alongside a picture of his wife and daughter, Legend wrote: ‘To my wonderful wife, @chrissyteigen. Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother’s Day!’

Um, wow. Dad, you really need to step it up.

In another supermodel’s living room, new mum Tyra Banks uploaded a picture to her Instagram with her mother Carolyn and four-month-old son, York. “I’m hearing, ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and I can’t believe how lucky I am!” she wrote. “Of all the fashionable hats I wear, I love being a #mother the most.”

Naww. Even though little York can’t speak yet, or even hand-make a snotty card, we’re sure he showed mum just how special she is.

As did Olivia Wilde’s two-year-old son, Otis.

By their second Mother’s Day, toddlers already know the golden rule: ‘When in doubt – be cute.’ And quite frankly, Otis nailed it.

Getting it done. Together. #motherlove

Jessica Biel’s one-year-old, Silas, must be taking pointers from Otis, because he also nailed the ‘be cute’ rule.

For those of you wondering, yes, he really is wearing a onesie that says ‘I love mom’ on the bum. And his hair is ridiculous. And he is most definitely distracted by something in the background.

While Biel originally posted the image of her and the gorgeous Silas, Justin Timberlake reposted it on Instagram, with a significantly different caption. “M.I.L.F. Alert!!!!” he wrote, which will always make my skin crawl. “Happy Mother’s Day to this AMAZING MOM AND WIFE. And, to all of the Mother’s out there… You keep the World turning!! Hope every single one of you has an amazing day!” Thanks JT.

Something that really stood out to us was the tributes of celebrity dads to their wives. And Channing Tatum unequivocally takes the cake. He posted a photo of his wife Jenna with their newborn daughter, three years ago. “I took this just days after Jenna and I (mostly Jenna) brought our little girl into the world” he wrote. “I’ve taken many like it over the past 3 years but this is one of my favorites. She was so tired. But she has such deep strength and other worldly grace.

“Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. She was every bit the beautiful, sexy, funny, flawed creature I fell in love with. But the prism turned and showed a whole new light that I had no idea existed, the light of a mothers love. Thank you for that baby.”

We’re not crying – you’re crying. But alas, there’s more.

“Saw this quote today –‘The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. Theodore Hesburgh. There are a lot of important things in being a father. Who knows what the most important thing is? All I know is that in my case this is pretty high on my list. Love you cake!”

Jesus. Channing Tatum won Mother’s Day.

I took this just days after jenna and I (mostly jenna) brought our little girl into the world. I’ve taken many like it over the past 3 years but this is one of my favorites. She was so tired. Haha. But she has such deep strength and other worldly grace. Watching her in those first days transform into a mother was life changing. Of course, it wouldn’t be Mother’s Day, let alone any day, without an appearance from the Kardashians.

Kourtney posted a gorgeous picture of her three babies, with the caption, “Feeling overwhelmed with love and blessings being able to be a mommy to these three angel babies. My favorite role in life so far is being a mommy and getting to see life through their eyes.”

Scott Disick posted nothing to honour the mother of his three children – further confirming that he is, in fact, a d**k.

Kanye on the other hand. Well, well, well.

He organised a STRING ORCHESTRA for Kim. It was probably supposed to be from the kids, but let’s be honest. North seems like she has her s**t together but she’s not that organised. Kim snapchatted the whole thing (thank GOD).

Perhaps one of the greatest comments I’ve read today was on the latter of these posts, and read “I got my Mum Adidas slipons.” Amen.

Meanwhile, most of our Aussie celebs were boycotting Mother’s Day in favour of the Logies. You can have a look through our favourite looks (including some of our favourite mums) below.

So Happy Mother’s Day for yesterday to all the mums out there, even the ones who got slippers instead of a string orchestra. If it’s really the ‘thought that counts’, that snotty card from your four-year-old is worth more than a flashy moment organised by Kanye’s PA anyway.
