There was one shade that reigned supreme this autumn-winter, and you'll get no prizes for guessing it.

With everything from shoes to bags to outerwear getting the chocolate treatment, that old adage about brown being "the new black" couldn't be more apt.

But if you're feeling like you've binged it enough, take note: the forecast for summer is looking very different. Lighter. Fresher!

As Fashion Month continues overseas with designers presenting their spring-summer collections, we're starting to get data from trend forecasters on the styles and shades to know about next.

Pantone is the world's leading colour authority (they accurately predicted "Mocha Mousse" would be the colour of 2025), and based on their early intel, we're about to see preppy pastels have a major resurgence.

Cya later, neutrals and browns! (Kidding, we're not ready to give up beige).

While several pretty shades are set to trend, two of the dominant colours that are already trickling into stores are baby blue and baby pink.

It's like fashion is having one big gender reveal party, but the styles coming through aren't giving "nursery" in the slightest. They actually feel super refreshing for summer.

You might've spotted sky blue popping up in the new Adidas sneakers hitting the market, or the oversized collared shirts that have been trending this season.

More surprisingly, we're starting to see pink denim have a moment.

If the concept of wearing coloured jeans again feels scary, we're not talking about the hot pink skinnies we wore in the 2000s — the new styles are wider and higher, with a subtle powdery hue.

Pink denim shirts and jackets are making their way into influencers' wardrobes, as well as the new collections of some of our favourite Aussie labels.
