Today I learnt I’ve been eating Kit Kats wrong my whole life. It all started with Kourtney Kardashian, who recently posted a ‘hack’ on her website of how she eats the delicious chocolate bar.
Apparently it’s not a case of simply ripping open the packet, breaking off a stick and chomping your way through – the six steps (yes, six!) involve biting off the ends, nibbling round the chocolate edges then eating it wafer layer by wafer layer. Allegedly because it’s so time consuming, you end up eating less. (Don’t even get me started on that). (WATCH: The Kardashian way to eat a Kit Kat. Post continues after video.)
I brought the ridiculous process up with The Glow team ready for us all to laugh about it, before the joke quickly turned on me. More than half the team DID actually eat their Kit Kats this way, which sparked another conversation; what foods do you eat ‘weirdly’?
1. Tim Tams
“I HAVE to make a Tim Tam straw with my tea or coffee. I bite off the two ends, suck the tea through the biscuit, then eat it super quickly. Otherwise, I’d rather have no Tim Tam at all (not really, I still eat them).”
2. Meat Pies
“When I eat a pie, I take the top off, eat the inside like soup and then eat the pastry at the end. There’s no other way to do it.”
3. Cadbury Creme Eggs
"I bite off the top then suck and lick out the gooey inside. Then I just eat the chocolate. That sounds a bit serial killer-ish doesn't it?"
4. Cupcakes
"With cupcakes, I cut it in half and flip it so the icing is in the centre THEN eat," says Amy. Who knew?
5. Toast
"I always eat the bottom part of the toast crust first - for some reason, it feels a lot more disappointing than the top, so I like to get it out of the way." (Post continues after gallery.)
