Everyone is talking about the new SBS mockumentary “Housos”. Note that we said MOCKumentary not DOCumentary. It’s in the same style as Kath & Kim or Summer Heights High, two of Australia’s most beloved and successful TV shows.
Housos is about life in a housing commission estate and follows the story of the resident bikie gang “Hunterz MC and, as The Australia’s Media diarist Caroline Overington reports:
“Some are saying it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever seen. Others are horribly offended. I’ve got to say, I recognise some of the characters, in particular the girl who attacks the journos. Also, the characters seem quite enthusiastic about the sexual form of love. Warning: there is A LOT of swearing – the second worst word! – and some scraggy sex scenes (not hardcore, but don’t say you weren’t warned.)
