The internet boyfriends of 2024 all have one thing in common.

This year has brought us so much: brat summer, the word 'demure', the breakdancing stylings of Raygun, and the divaship of an unruly pygmy hippo named Moo Deng.

But above all, there have been men. So many men.

Men who the internet simply can't get enough of aka the internet boyfriend, the sort of handsome guy who is constantly popping up on every corner of the internet.

After much pondering, the internet boyfriends of 2024 are, without further ado, these eight men: Glen Powell, Dev Patel, Paul Mescal, Andrew Garfield, Pedro Pascal, Cooper Koch, Jonathan Bailey and Adam Brody.

There's something that these men all have in common and I've finally figured it out.

Let me pose a theory — stay with me on this.

They are all strawberry milkshake men.

Never heard of this term? Great, I just made it up. But it works!

You know the type of man I'm talking about. He's wholesome, super sweet, always does the unexpected, and he's as happy hanging with a bunch of girls as he is bro-ing out with some lads — he is the antithesis of toxic masculinity.

He isn't a hyper-masculine black iced coffee or even a boyish chocolate milk.

This man is a loud and proud strawberry milkshake.

He not only embodies a strawberry milkshake; he's the type of guy to order one any chance he gets.

Let me explain further…

Glen Powell.

Starting with Glen Powell, the man who put hunks back on the map with his turn in blockbuster Twisters, as an, umm 'tornado wrangler'.

But the details of this movie do not matter one bit when Glen was spending most of the publicity trail carrying around his adorable dog, a terrier poodle mix, who he adopted while filming Twisters.

This man is a tall glass of strawberry milk if I ever saw one.

When Glen isn't glued to his pooch, he's attempting to do the 'Apple' dance with his gal pal and co-star, Daisy Edgar Jones.

Glen might have barely known what he was doing but he tried his darndest, and he sold it with flare!

He wanted to be one of the girls, and that my friend, is a strawberry milk man.

Dev Patel.

It's been a huge year for Dev Patel who became the ultimate heartthrob as a bona fide action hero in his directorial debut, Monkey Man.

The actor has come a long way from his debut in Skins as a lanky, awkward teenager, and the internet has taken notice and by notice, I mean: woof woof.

Would I say no to splitting a strawberry milkshake with this beautiful man? Never.

In fact, I've added it to my 2025 vision board.

Paul Mescal.

Then there's Paul Mescal, who has been seemingly a constant presence throughout 2024. Mescal's moment began under rather odd circumstances: a TikTok rumour took flight that Mescal was notorious for hooking up with women and then after walking them to the park the next day, he would… just run away.

The actor has since addressed the rumours, which he denies but can acknowledge are very funny.

He gets it! He knows the internet is a wild jungle where rumours run free. He's not stuck on silly concepts like integrity and righteousness.

He's a silly little strawberry milkshake. He gulps down internet lore like he does his favourite pink sweet drink of choice.

What other type of man would embrace shorty shorts with such confidence? And paired with a Gucci dress shirt, no less??

Then came the Gladiator II media storm, and Mescal's star has continued to rise.

It's no coincidence that Mescal began his year appearing on Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg, which brings us to our next internet boyfriend…

Andrew Garfield.

Andrew Garfield has always been simmering under the surface.

Ever since his breakout role in The Social Network, I've had my eye on him (not in a pervy way, but also not not that, ya know).

Then, of course, he was a man of spiders for a few big-budget action films, but then returned to his indie roots with a slew of delightfully unexpected roles.

As any good strawberry milkshake man would.

Ahead of his drama We Live In Time, he sat opposite Amelia Dimoldenberg for one of her iconic Chicken Shop Date episodes, and oh boy, magic was made.

The flirting was out of control. One moment that felt like there was some shift in the tectonic plates was when he told the host that she was funnier than him (true). "You're funnier, that's a quality I really appreciate in you," he told her earnestly.

In another interview moment from 2024, Garfield connected with Elmo about losing his mother to pancreatic cancer five years ago.

These interviews capped off a particularly strong year for Garfield, who walked the red carpet with a cardboard cutout of his co-star Florence Welch, and wore a stitched horse on his denim jacket in tribute to the carousel horse who gatecrashed his movie poster.

Pedro Pascal.

From 2023 to 2024, there is one thing that remains consistent: Pedro Pascal is still the internet's boyfriend.

While last year was all about The Last of Us, this year was dominated by his hunky role opposite fellow internet boyfriend, Paul Mescal, in Gladiator II.

This sweet, sensitive boy is the exact type to slurp down a strawberry milkshake like the non-toxic gentle king he is.

Cooper Koch.

Now on to the men who lit up our TV screens in 2024. Starting with an unexpected dark horse: the star of the grim-as-hell series Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, Cooper Koch (who played the sensitive, Erik).

After the runaway success of this true crime-based drama, both of the lead stars, Cooper and Nicolas Chavez, have taken over every corner of the internet.

Chavez is hugely popular with countless thirst edits on TikToks, but he comes with a slight edge (if you're brave enough for Grotesquerie, you'll see what I mean), whereas Cooper is a much more sweet and wholesome online entity.

He is a strawberry milkshake, after all.

Cooper has been open about some of the struggles he's faced being an openly gay actor in Hollywood. He was once told by an acting coach that his "gay voice" would hold him back from booking acting roles.

In the weeks following the Netflix series dropping, fans have compiled countless edits of the actor being a cutie patootie in interviews. We don't deserve this angel!

This list would be a scam if I didn't call out Jonathan Bailey, who first delighted audiences in the first half of the year with Bridgerton, before sending the world spooning as Fiyero in Wicked.

But it was his iconic responses on the Wicked press tour that lifted this actor to internet boyfriend status.

This man is a strawberry milkshake personified. End of!

And finally, it's the comeback of the century with a reformed internet boyfriend of the '00s returning as an internet husband in 2024.

Brody was simply born to play Noah in the Netflix rom-com Nobody Wants This, a sensitive and emotionally intelligent Rabbi opposite Kristen Bell's Joanne.
