Kimberley and Jacob were on their honeymoon when a freak accident changed everything.

Kimberley Fuller's son was playing on a Guide Dogs collection box in 2022 when she met Jacob Vennix.

Two years later, on December 21, Kimberley and Jacob tied the knot, celebrating their marriage at the Hard Days Night function centre in Adelaide, before heading to Bali for their honeymoon.

On Monday, December 30, the newlyweds were spending time together on Pasut Beach, about 30km west of Denpasar, when a freak wave changed everything.

Jacob was swept out to sea, becoming caught in a rip. Kimberley desperately tried to save him, dragging a large seat cushion into the ocean.

Unable to reach him, she called for help, and a local fisherman rushed to rescue her new husband, but struggled to battle the strong, shifting currents.

According to Tabanan Police, when the fisherman finally dragged Jacob onto his boat, another large wave flipped it over, eventually sweeping the 32-year-old onto the beach, where his wife was waiting.

With the help of local residents, Kimberley attempted to perform CPR on Jacob, before he was taken to the Tabanan Public Hospital.

Shortly after arriving, Jacob was declared dead.

In an emotional tribute on social media, Kimberley described Jacob as the most beautiful human, partner and father.

"All he wanted was to marry me and love and look after me and the boys," she wrote.

"I will make sure the boys know what an angel he was."

As well as Kimberley's four-year-old son, Isaac, the couple also have a one-year-old son, Cole, who suffers with bilateral optic nerve hypoplasia.

Jacob's friends described him as "one of the nicest, most amazing gentlemen I've known", a "gorgeous, kind human", and a "great man".

"One who loved and cared deeply, one who always showed up, one who worked so hard — at work, at home, for you and your kids," one friend wrote.

"He will be missed by all of us."
