It’s been three years since Honey Boo Boo retired from pageants and in a shocking first, the transition from child star to child couldn’t be smoother.
Honey Boo Boo or Alana Thompson, first made headlines after she was picked up as an audience favourite in American reality show, Toddlers and Tiaras.
She began to market herself as a brand, coining such racy catchphrases as ‘a dollar makes me holla’ and ‘you’d better redneckognise’.
Even her mother became a feature of the series as audiences were both captured and horrified to learn she would slip Boo Boo her pre-pageant ‘Go-Go’ juice.
A ‘juice’ that was really a concoction of Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

Appearing across social media accounts operated by her mother, Boo Boo’s transformation from beauty queen to regular young girl couldn’t be more reassuring.
On Instagram, she posts videos of herself singing and dancing along to popular music. But instead of the hand-sewn jewels that used to adorn her from toe to tip, Boo Boo bops along in her t-shirt and sweats.
Not only do posts such as this seem to carry the mantle of ‘regular young girl’ but even her followers echo the sentiment.
Boo Boo should be commended for her ability to grow into a regular young girl when her start to life would make even the most humble monk pick up a selfie stick.
Watch how easily those tiara tantrums have been replaced one or maybe two sassy hair flips…
