The Hollywood men who died (inside our hearts) this year.

2017 was quite a year for sexual harassers.

Their wandering hands, lewd jokes, violent abuse and power plays were publicly shamed and with that, they all just… died. In our hearts, of course.

So, in honour of our dead love for the men who were once held in high regard by the public, we thought it fitting to see out 2017 with an obituary of sorts.

One that rounds up all the men who are dead to us after years of (alleged, in many cases) abusive tendencies.

RIP to the love we once had for them.

Harvey Weinstein

Kevin Spacey

Ahhh, the once-loved House of Cards star who, by the end of 2017, found himself the centre of a House of Horrors. More than 15 men came forward accusing the actor of sexual misconduct, so how did he see fit to respond?

It went a little like this: “I was drunk oh, and also, I’m gay! Look over here!”

In the bin, Spacey.

Dustin Hoffman

“People go, “How is it to work with Dustin?” And I tell the half-truth, which is, as an actor working with him, I owe him everything. I learned so much. And then I would stop and there would always be a knot in my stomach about what the real truth was, which is he was abusive and he was a bully,” actress Kathryn Rossetter recalled to NBC this week, about her time working with Hoffman on Death of a Salesman.

For a large part of his 80-year life, Hoffman is alleged to to have been a bully and a systematic abuser and, for that very reason, we’re bidding him goodbye.

Brett Ratner

If you’re willing to whip your d*ck out and masturbate when an up-and-coming actress goes to deliver you a meal in your trailer on set, we’re going to say it’s only fair you’re blacklisted.

Ratner, who Olivia Munn said did just that on the set of the 2004 Ratner-directed film After the Sunset, is accused of sexual harassment from at least six more women.

Cheers to our cold hearts, full of dead love for the once-celebrated director.

Terry Richardson

In fairness to Richardson, our love for him has been loooong-dead rather than just being specific to 2017.

The fashion photographer, who has been accused by multiple models of sexual assault and harassment, continues to get work. But when Weinstein went down, the parallels to Richardson were loud and clear.

James Toback

Let us put it this way: 26 women are so terrified of James Toback and the repercussions of coming forward about his abuse, they were not willing to go on the record about his sexual misconduct.

12 women did.

If that doesn’t speak to power, we’re not sure what does.

Ed Westwick

Three allegations of rape. Chuck Bass is dead, and in his place sits the very murky knowledge that a teen heartthrob may have inflicted monumental damage on unassuming young women.

Louis C.K

When comedian Louis CK was accused, by at least five women, of masturbating in front of them, he issued a public apology.

His official statement said he’d previously thought “it was OK to show women [his] dick” because he always asked them first.

How very polite of him.

Morgon Spurlock

Shout-out to Morgon Spurlock who, after outing himself as a sexual harasser, threw out a handful of reasons as to why he once acted the way he did, hoping something would stick.

The highlights included addiction, his parents' divorce and bad genes.

We kid you not.

Ben Affleck

Affleck, who has been accused of inappropriate behaviour by two women in 2017, says he is ashamed of his actions. Good for him... we guess.

Donald Trump

Bin bin bin bin bin bin.

The ones who began digging their graves

Chris Rock

The week after the Weinstein watershed moment, Chris Rock made relentless jokes about sexual harassment at a gig, even after friends said he should move on.

“They cry rape because they want money,” the 52-year-old said.

He went on, explaining to the audience that he no longer hires any women because he would need a “crew of witnesses” around him, to safeguard him against rape allegations.

Sir Ian McKellan

In an unfortunate take on the #MeToo movement, actor Sir Ian McKellen has said women in the past have used sex to land roles and therefore contributed to the Weinstein-esque culture permeating Hollywood today.

Speaking at the Oxford Union, the 78-year-old veteran actor, known for his work in the Lord of The Rings and X-Men films, said women in the 1960s would often offer to have sex with a director in exchange for a part.

Because of course, that's exactly how it works.

Matt Damon

Just this:

"We're in this watershed moment, and it's great, but I think one thing that's not being talked about is there are a whole s*** load of guys — the preponderance of men I've worked with — who don't do this kind of thing and whose lives aren't going to be affected," Damon recently told Business Insider.

A medal for Matt Damon, please. He hasn't been sexually harassing women.

Graham Norton

Graham Norton seems like a nice enough guy, but if he could stop inviting men with iffy reputations onto his show, that would be great.
