"So lovely and rewarding." Hilary Duff just shared the emotional video of her home birth.

In October last year, Hilary Duff and her musician boyfriend Matthew Koma welcomed their daughter, Banks Violet Bair, into the world.

Five months later, the 31-year-old actress has decided to share the footage of her home birth on Instagram.

In the video, the newborn intuitively reaches out her arms for her mother, and wraps them around her neck. Hilary then leans in and cuddles her baby for the first time.

She accompanied the footage with a caption, explaining that she was never sure she would share the emotional footage to the public.

I’ve been wondering for a long time if I would ever share this video as it is extremely personal…. it was so absolutely lovely and rewarding(and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged …for the first time, In my mind I like to believe that she was saying good job mom. Go team go. We did it. Together. Matt provided such a safe calm strength, my mommy and sissy were there to cheer me on, and of course my birth angels to make sure all was well and big brother (downstairs deep in legos). I cannot believe this day was only 5 months ago!! It seems like B has been here with us all along. The time is already going so fast..she tried avocado yesterday! Anyway… feeling blessed for this full hectic life and all the people in it. Happy 5 months Banks (oh and thanks for quitting colic) that was a doozy ( @rebeccacoursey_photosandfilm )

While Banks is the first child for the couple, the actress also shares a seven-year-old son, Luca Cruz Comrie, with her ex-husband Mike Comrie.

Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma have had an on-and-off again relationship for some years, but rekindled their relationship in December 2017 after breaking up in March the same year.

At the end of 2017, Hilary shared with the television show The Talk that the two had resumed their relationship.

“It’s going so great,” she said. “[It’s] the third time that we’ve dated. Timing is such a big deal … third time’s a charm!”

As for the vital mother’s approval, Hilary needn’t be concerned.

“My mum was at Matt’s birthday and she was like, ‘I just love him. I love him so much. He’s the best,’” she told E! News.
