A celebrity mum's post baby body photo has people disappointed.

It’s the same story we see far too often in the media: celebrity mum puts a post baby body photo on social media – she looks good – followers are not happy that celebrity mum looks good so they take her down through comments. Trolls come out, everyone is sad.

It happened again – to Alec Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin. She gave birth two weeks ago to her second child. The new mum has been putting post baby body photos on Instagram since two days after giving birth. Initially the photos were received positively because people thought they looked real. Photos like this.

As time went on the 31-year-old kept posting photos of her body changing. The most recent photo was a bathroom mirror selfie, with her eldest daughter, Carmen in the forefront.

The caption said, "Rafael was 2 weeks yesterday and I didn't post my weekly #ShrinkingBaldwinBabyBump. Carmen has come in while I'm showering and getting ready for the day to terrorize my cosmetic products...My lipsticks are shaking in fear #SeeThatFace ???"

The baby bump is noticeably shrinking and so now her followers have moved from elation to disappointment.

It wasn't trolling, but people were displeased with the unrealistic expectations they believe she is placing on new mums.

So Baldwin responded to her unhappy followers. She posted this image to her instagram account with the caption, "you can have your cake and eat it too."

Celebrity post baby body selfies can be hard for many new mums to look at without feeling less than great about their own bodies.

What we have to remember is every body - shape, size, colour - is beautiful. Ultimately if you've had a baby, you're body is the most amazing thing on the planet - because it made a little human.

Let's support celebrity mums, let's support non-celebrity mums and let's just celebrate the fact that we have beautiful little bundles of joy in our lives.
