The one detail in Meghan and Harry's Christmas card people can't stop talking about.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially released their royal Christmas card for 2025. And it's their most intimate family portrait so far.

In the image, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are captured sharing a quiet family moment with their two children, Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.

Meghan shared the Christmas card on Instagram, writing, "Happy Holidays! From our family to yours."

According to PEOPLE, the image was captured earlier this month at their Montecito home in California, where the couple relocated after stepping down from their senior royal duties in 2020.

For the photo, the family are standing together on a small wooden bridge in a garden, dressed in relaxed white and blue outfits.

Megan is holding hands with Lilibet while the mother and daughter rest their foreheads together.

Meanwhile, little Archie is hugging his dad's waist, with Harry holding his son's cheek and smiling down at him.

Considering the Duke of Sussex has previously opened up about a lack of affection from his father, King Charles, this detail feels poignant to some royal observers.

In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry claimed his childhood came with "no hugs, no kisses, no pats. Now and then, maybe a light touching of cheeks — on special occasions."

Another detail that's hard to miss is the bright red hair on both Archie and Lilibet, inherited from their father.

Harry even joked that the "ginger gene is a strong one" while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2023.

Separately, Harry and Meghan have also released an almost two-minute-long video highlighting their charity work across the year.

"On behalf of the Office of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and Archewell, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year," a statement on their website read.

The montage depicts glimpses of the royals "responding to global crisis," "supporting women and girls," and "protecting families online."

Archie and Lilibet also made an appearance in the footage, volunteering with their parents at "Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles" ahead of Thanksgiving.

The video ends with the phrase "Show up. Do good." before their organisation logo appears on the screen: Archewell Philanthropies.

Earlier this week, the official Archewell website rebranded from the Archewell Foundation to Archewell Philanthropies.

"After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation is becoming Archewell Philanthropies," read a statement. "This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand upon their global philanthropic endeavors as a family."

The royal's Christmas card comes a day after the Prince and Princess of Wales released their own family portrait, captured by photographer Josh Shinner earlier in the year.

For the photo, Prince William and Princess Catherine are seated on the grass with their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.

But the most powerful detail of the portrait wasn't the heirs to the throne; it was what they were sitting on.

A field of daffodils.

Whether intentional or not, the daffodil symbolises rebirth, hope, resilience and new beginnings — an apt choice considering what the Wales family has endured for the past couple of years.

Princess Catherine is currently in remission from cancer after undergoing chemotherapy.

King Charles, Harry and William's father, is also fighting his own cancer battle.

The monarch recently shared his treatment "can be reduced in the new year."

"Thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and adherence to 'doctors' orders', my own schedule of cancer treatment can be reduced in the new year," King Charles said on Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer broadcast.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry spoke to the BBC about his father's health.

The royal, who has a strained relationship with the royal family, said he wasn't sure "how much longer" King Charles would be here, and hoped to reconcile before it was too late.

"I would love reconciliation with my family… Life is precious," Harry said.
