Half-wave hair: The easy new hairstyle that's meant to look imperfect.

Owner of glorious eyebrows and she who can do no wrong, Cara Delevingne has this week provided us with our latest hair obsession.

It’s a mix between “bed hair” and “wavy hair” and it’s sure to make anyone who is not particularly gifted in the art of hair wizardry very, very happy.

At the premiere of ‘Paper Towns’ in Berlin, Cara D emerged wearing a hairstyle that can only be described as half wavy, half straight. It was pretty, it was undone and it was just the kind of style we can see ourselves rocking this winter. (Post continues after gallery.)

I tend to think that waves are a universally flattering hairstyle, but they do have the potential to look a little too done, a little too polished (Year 10 formal, anyone?).

This style is one of our favourites. Why? It involves little effort, and it’s meant to look imperfect.

Think gorgeous full waves up top, which seem to natural fall out and relax near the bottom. It's like second (or third) day hair with an edge.

All you need is a curling iron and possibly some texturising spray.

First, brush hair lightly with a brush or comb like the Lady Jayne Detangling Brush ($12.99) to get rid of any knots.

Starting near the top of the head, wrap a large (approximately 2cm width) bit of hair around a large barrel tong, but leave the mid-lengths and ends out. The idea is that you want to create volume and lift around the crown and sides of your head, while letting the rest of your hair fall naturally.

Once you've done your whole head, run your fingers through the hair to create effortless, loose waves. Give yourself a quick spritz of texturising spray or liberally spray Cedel Hairspray ($4.99) on your waves to keep the look in place.

I think I've found my go-to winter hair style and best of all, it's pretty damn achievable.
