Gwyneth Paltrow's homes are worth more than $81 million. Step inside 3 of them.

In news that would make even her wellness-obsessed Goop followers pause their jade egg routine, Gwyneth Paltrow has officially sold her Los Angeles mansion for a cool $35.2 million (USD $22 million).

The Oscar-winner and lifestyle guru initially listed the Brentwood property back in May 2024, and more recently it narrowly avoided the bushfires wreaking havoc in the Hollywood Hills

She may have had to slash the price it was originally listed for, but no need to fret about the Shakespeare in Love actress. She and ex-husband Chris Martin originally purchased the property for just $9.95 million back in 2012, so they made a decent profit.

The reason for the sale? Well, it seems the 51-year-old is entering her empty-nester era, with her daughter Apple at Vanderbilt University and her son Moses at Brown University.

Plus, she's got a shiny new property to focus on. More on that later.

When it comes to celebrity real estate, few portfolios are as impressive as Gwyneth Paltrow's collection of luxury homes. The actress has carefully curated a selection of properties that reflect her sophisticated modern taste and wellness-focused lifestyle.

From the sun-drenched landscapes of Los Angeles to the bustling heart of New York City, Paltrow's homes span across coveted locations. Each property is a reflection of the city it resides in, yet carries the unmistakable imprint of her personal style.

The wellness guru and Oscar winner originally purchased the sprawling mansion with ex-husband Chris Martin back in 2012 for USD $9.95 million (AUD $15.9 million), proving it to be quite the savvy investment.

Nestled in one of LA's most exclusive neighbourhoods, the 743 square metre residence is every bit as considered and luxurious as you'd expect from the Goop founder. The estate screams California cool, with its pristine white exterior, soaring ceilings, and an abundance of natural light flooding through floor-to-ceiling windows.

The main residence features six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, but it's the wellness amenities that truly shine. There's a state-of-the-art home gym, a tranquil yoga studio, and a spa-like primary bathroom complete with a soaking tub.

The heart of the home is undoubtedly the chef's kitchen, which features two commercial-grade cooktops and a wood-fired pizza oven — perfect for testing those famous Goop recipes. The space opens to an airy family room.

For entertaining, the property boasts a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a cosy movie theatre, and a games room. In 2022, Paltrow added a separate guest house to the property, complete with its own bedroom suite.

The outdoor space is equally impressive, with a resort-style pool, a built-in barbecue area, and raised vegetable gardens where Paltrow reportedly grew organic produce.

In the celebrity-favoured enclave of Montecito, where neighbours include Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Gwyneth Paltrow has created what she calls her "forever home".

With just over two acres of land to work with, Paltrow and her husband Brad Fulchuk completely transformed the property from two dilapidated houses into her dream home.

The estate, which boasts breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, underwent an extensive renovation that would make any Goop reader swoon. Paltrow's vision? A unique blend of Parisian apartment meets European barn — a concept that required the combined talents of acclaimed design firms Roman and Williams and Romanek Design Studio.

The result is nothing short of spectacular. The main residence features cathedral ceilings with exposed wooden beams, creating an atmosphere that's both grand and intimate. The colour palette is quintessentially Gwyneth — warm whites, soft creams, and natural textures that create a sense of calm and sophistication.

In 2023, Paltrow made headlines when she partnered with Airbnb to offer stays in her guest house, which gave lucky visitors a chance to experience her wellness-focused lifestyle firsthand.

"My Montecito home is my sanctuary for respite and mental clarity," Paltrow told Architectural Digest. "I go there to recharge, to daydream about what we're building at Goop and to reconnect with my family and treasured friends."

While the exact purchase price remains private, real estate experts estimate the property's current value at well over AUD $30 million, based on recent sales in the area and the extensive renovations.

In 2006, Paltrow and then-husband Chris Martin purchased their Hamptons home for USD $5.4 million (AUD $8.6 million). The Amagansett property holds a special significance for her.

In 2018, she married producer Brad Falchuk in the property's backyard. The couple chose to exchange vows near a tree where Paltrow's father's ashes are buried.

The residence spans an impressive 7,000 square feet and boasts five bedrooms alongside seven and a half bathrooms. The interior design offers a soothing pastel colour palette. In contrast, the kitchen features dark cabinetry that's illuminated by strategically placed skylights.
