A bride tricked her guests into paying for her entire wedding and we don't know how to feel.

Let’s be honest, weddings are never cheap for anyone involved.

For family and friends of the happy couple, accepting a hit to the bank account is just part of supporting their big day. But when it comes to forking out a small house deposit, there’s got to be a line in the sand… right?

One bride certainly thinks not, having been outed on a Mumsnet forum by one of her wedding guests who is clearly feeling a bit conflicted about basically footing the bill for her close friend's entire three-day wedding celebration.

"Am I being a tightwad or is this taking the p***?" she began. "One of my closest friends got married a couple of months ago, she said they didn't have a massive budget which I have no problem with, of course!"

"They decided to hire a big house and not get any catering or bar staff, instead they bought the food and basically got the guests to all pitch in. But the wedding was a 3 day event (Is this a 'thing' now??!) and there was a different themed party on each day (with different themed outfits to have to buy for both me and my partner.)"

The woman then goes on to explain how each couple was required to pay £450 (almost $750!) each for their accommodation, as well as buying something from their wedding registry.

But here's where it hits the fan.

"I've just found out that hiring the venue cost her and her fiancé nothing because she told another friend of ours that they recouped the full cost of hiring the house through the money they collected from friends and family for the rooms!!!!" the woman wrote online.

"In other words, the venue cost x amount and they just divided x by the number of bedrooms (about 15 in total) and charged all the couples who stayed 1/15th of the venue hire!!!!! It has made me really cross but none of our other friends seem to have issue with it so I'm worried I'm being a tightwad by complaining."

We'll let you decide for yourselves. Although the penny-pinching part of us is smirking, we can't help feeling like conning your friends to pay for your own wedding is pretty crap.
