Prepare to feel about one million years old – because these child stars? They are NOT kids any more.
In my head, Dakota Fanning is still around 11-years-old and when I hear the name ‘Emma Watson’ I think Harry Potter, not The Perks of Being a Wallflower or the Burberry trenchcoat.
But somehow, these 11 former child stars have grown up when we weren’t looking.
Related: 11 stars we met as children, and are oddly attracted to now they’re grown up.
1. Emma Watson.
She used to be a frizzy-haired kid, but Hermione Granger’s long gone now.
Emma Watson is now 25-years-old. She’s studied at Brown and Oxford universities. She has helped create a line of clothing. She’s certified to teach yoga and meditation. Oh, and she’s also a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and helped launch the HeForShe campaign, which fights for gender equality.
She really is the “brightest witch of her age”.
2. Drew Barrymore.
We loved her as a kid in E.T. We worried about her when she battled drug and alcohol problems. We cheered for her during her ’00s revival (Josie Grossey, anyone?)
And now? We admire her for growing into a healthy, happy, gorgeous businesswoman and mum of two.
She was also named as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the UN World Food Programme and she has donated more than US$1 million to the program. So yeah, she’s doing pretty well for herself.
3. Molly Ringwald.
Molly Ringwald ruled the ’80s, and she grew into one genetically-blessed woman. But apart from The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink and other cinematic masterpieces, we love her most for constantly calling out sexism and sticking up for feminism.
