Daddy Day Camp to Date Movie: 5 critically panned movies that are actually not that bad.

There are many movies that haven't quite made the cut.... in the eyes of critics, that is.

In fact, there have been quite a few movies so many of us loved that have been critically panned in publications, on Rotten Tomatoes, Google Reviews or IMBD.

That doesn't mean they're actually bad though... Right?

Watch should you shush people in movies? Post continues after video.

From critically canned to horrifically rated, here are the movies that have bad reviews, but are actually pretty darn good.

Date Movie (2006).

IMDb rating: 2.8/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 7%

Hilarious, offensive and politically incorrect? We cannot imagine why Date Movie canned in the eyes of critics and viewers alike.

The 2006 film stars Julia Jones (How I Met Your Mother star Alyson Hannigan), a plus-size woman, who suddenly undergoes a weight loss transformation through... very peculiar methods.

She wins the heart of British heartthrob Grant Funk, who is played by Adam Campbell, on a reality dating show.

Happy ending, right? Not so much.

It turns out that Grant's ex-girlfriend is still hung up over him and on a mission to win him back. That character, Andy, is played by none other than iconic Australia comedian, actress and singer Sophie Monk.

It may have canned review-wise, but it's a hilariously done spoof movie that ironically highlights the problem with romantic-films; nothing is realistic.

Date Movie can be watched on Amazon Prime, although it will cost you $4.99.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

IMDb rating: 6.2/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 47%

The alternative Christmas movie that gets you right into the jolly spirit, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is the film everyone has seen at least one time or another.

While it may be a favourite film to some, it appears in the eyes of critics and the majority of the public audience - How The Grinch Stole Christmas was a major fail.

Some may argue though that whoever didn't like it possibly had shoes that were too tight, a head that not screwed on right and a heart two sizes too small...

The film stars Jim Carrey as Mr. Grinch, along with a few other familiar faces including Taylor Momsen as Cindy Lou and Christine Baranski as Martha May.

While it may not be everyone's movie of choice during the silly season, How The Grinch Stole Christmas has established itself as a cult classic 21 years on.

The erotic Netflix thriller is all about an intense, and frankly frightening Mafia boss who kidnaps a woman he's been obsessed with since he pictured her while he believed he was dying.

While its intent was to be romantic, dark and steamy - instead, it became a hilarious meme after the whole world tuned into watch during the coronavirus pandemic.

One of the most notable quotes taken from 365 Days was: "Are you lost baby girl?"

365 Days starred Michele Morrone, who plays the criminal Mafia boss Don Massimo Torricelli. His love interest is Laura Biel, who is played by Anna-Maria Sieklucka.

Guardians (2017).

IMDb rating: 4/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 33%

The superhero movie that managed to rake in US $15.1 million is about as crazy as it sounds.

A team of superheroes, called the Guardians, work together to fight a villain whose reign has been undefeatable. Based in Moscow Russia, each hero - Arsus, Ler, Khan and Kseniya - represents a different nationality of the Soviet Union.

Together, they all played a part in a very dramatic experiment.

Arsus, played by Anton Pampushnyy, was given the ability to transform into a... bear.

Ler is played by Sebastien Sisak and has the gift of levitation, which definitely came in handy throughout the film.

Sanzhar Madiyev plays Khan and is able to run faster than lightening, and he also has superhuman strength.

Kseniya who is played by Alina Lanina can manipulate water and even become invisible.

It's a bizarre film, and the reviews have been mixed, but overall it is truly not the worst superhero film when you compare it to 2004's Catwoman.

Guardians is available to watch on Amazon for $3.99.

Daddy Day Camp (2007).

IMDb rating: 3.2/10

Rotten Tomatoes: 1%

Possibly the worst rated of them all, Daddy Day Camp is the comedy classic that didn't quite live up to the hype, despite its stellar cast.

It stars Cuba Gooding Jr. and Paul Rae as dads Charlie and Phil who somehow find themselves with the overwhelming task of taking over a summer day camp. It's a mess, from beginning to end, especially considering neither Charlie or good ol' Phil know what they're doing.

Through hard lessons, a visit from an army colonel and the merciless task of ensuring their business doesn't go into foreclosure, Daddy Day Camp truly a hilarious film every parent should sit down to watch with their kids.

Despite the horrific ratings, we promise you it isn't that bad.
