There’s no bond quite like that of a mother and daughter.
Mums are there to help you through the hard stuff, offering the type of wisdom only mums can.
A lot of the time, we need them around.
But there are some situations where they could probably…back off a bit.
Take, for example, in the delivery room when you’re heaving a human baby from your vagina.
For actress Kate Hudson, she found herself close to regretting her request to have her mum Goldie Hawn by her side when she gave birth to her second son Bingham Bellamy in 2011…and we can kinda see why.
Not only did she treat the delivery room like a junk-food-filled teenage boy’s birthday party (she brought in pizza and Doritos), she offered some…interesting advice.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres in September last year, Kate revealed Goldie’s unusual visualisation technique during childbirth.
“She wanted me to think of my vagina as a magnolia flower,” she said. “I was like, ‘I never want to think of my vagina that big—ever.'”
And this week when both women returned to the show as guest co-hosts, the topic of Goldie’s enthusiasm in the delivery room came up again.
This time, during the October 2018 birth of Hudson’s daughter, Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa.
