These photos just show how important a stylist is.

Remember when Kate Hudson was best known as being Goldie Hawn’s daughter? Her stunning look at this year’s Golden Globes reminded us how far she has come – and she isn’t the only one. We travelled back in time to compare how today’s biggest stars have changed since they were red carpet rookies.

From Jessica Lange in 1977 to George Clooney in 1995, here are some of our favorite celebrities now and then.

Having starred in just a single movie at the time ("King Kong"), Jessica Lange made her Golden Globes debut with a bang in 1977. In 2015, the celebrated actress is still being recognized for her work with a nomination for her role in "American Horror Story: Freak Show."

Meryl Streep

This classy lady has never been afraid to change with the times, and Streep has taken roles playing everyone from Margaret Thatcher to Julia Child, to a devilish magazine editor. We think the "Into the Woods" star has never looked better!
