Nothing lights up my group chats more than a new Go-To product.

And man, were mine going off earlier this week with questions over the Australian skincare brand's latest launch; not skincare, not makeup, but three fragrances.

Watch: Leigh Campbell shared her thoughts on the buzzy Selena Gomez fragrance on You Beauty, post continues below.

This trio of Christmas/summer adjacent products is just one of many holiday beauty drops set to land in the coming weeks. It's not enough for brands to package up their best sellers in festive boxes and wrapping anymore.

The customer (aka, you and I) now demands new treats in the form of holiday-inspired flavours and scents of cult products, or even completely new formulas that don't have much to do with a brand's core range at all.

OK cool cool, but what do these Go-To perfume oils actually smell like, and should you buy one?

I wore all three — not at once, I'm not an animal — so we can debrief on whether they smell as great as they look and if you'd want to wear them as your new signature scent.

Meet the Go-To fragrances.

Here's what you need to know:

Very important; these are limited edition. With any luck, Go-To will have made a lot of stock, but there's no confirmation these will become part of their core range anytime soon, so if you want one, make it quick!

• The limited-edition holiday range includes three rollerball fragrance oils or perfume oils across different fragrance 'families' — gourmand, floral and oud

• Different to typical eau de toilette (EDT) or eau de parfum (EDP) fragrances that contain alcohol, these fragrance oil formulas are made with an ester oil that sinks down into the skin and delivers a long-lasting scent

• 10mL for $45, in slim rollerball packaging that's handbag friendly and safe for travel

• Like most fragrances, these perfume oils combine head/top notes (what you smell first), heart/middle notes (what you smell an hour or so in) and base/bottom notes (what you smell hours later) so what you smell at the start isn't how they'll wear the whole day

• They're all very different, but the one thing each fragrance has in common is that they're pretty strong; a little goes a long way

1. Go-To Into The Bakery Go-To Perfume Oil, $45.

What is it? An indulgently sweet, creamy perfume oil for those who want to smell positively edible — it's your favourite bakery, in a rollerball.

What does it smell like?

Top notes - Black chocolate, savoury biscuit, freesia, and jasmine

Heart notes - Hazelnut, coconut milk, and teak wood accord

Base notes - Vanilla, sugar cane, coconut, and tonka bean

My Go-To Into The Bakery perfume oil review:

Of all three, this is the one that made my mouth water the second it touched my skin.

The savoury biscuit top note is strong; it honestly smells like walking into a warm bakery filled with cronuts and croissants. I was instantly obsessed and wanted to eat it… until I didn't.

20 minutes after applying, the sugary sweet baked goods scent was giving me a headache; it's very far away from the citrus, aquatic fragrances I wear day-to-day.

If you like a modern signature scents that lean fresh or moody, this perfume isn't for you. The final settled scent about three hours into wearing is lovely, though. Much less intense and wearable. I'd be happy to smell it on someone else!

That said, gourmand fragrances are having a moment; everyone wants to smell like caramel and vanilla right now. Fans of sweet scents will love this.

Plus (and trust me on this), these types of rich, sugary fragrances are anecdotally known in the industry as 'catnip for men'. Do with that what you will.

2. Go-To Into The Garden Go-To Perfume Oil, $45.

Image: Supplied.

What is it? A modern, bold white floral perfume oil that promises to bottle the vibes of the perfect spring day.

What does it smell like?

Top notes - Lemon, coriander, honey, and gardenia

Heart notes - Tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, freesia, and hyacinth

Base notes - Sandalwood, vanilla, solar accord, musk, and oakmoss accord

My Go-To Into The Garden perfume oil review:

Upon first swipe, I didn't think this would be for me. Too floral, too musky, too much. But once those intense floral top notes dried down, I fell in love.

Don't get me wrong, this is a floral perfume as you know them, but the green coriander and citrus lemon grounded in sandalwood

I would genuinely wear this as my daily fragrance, especially in springtime when you want to soak up the feeling of blue skies, just-crisp-enough days and warm daylight savings evenings.

If the traditional floral fragrances you spritz in department stores aren't for you, you probably won't like Into The Garden. But my Marc Jacobs Daisy, Gucci Bloom-loving friends, add to cart.

3. Go-To Into The Woods Go-To Perfume Oil, $45.

Image: Supplied.

What is it? An ambery, oud perfume oil with a warm, sophisticated profile; it's what comes to mind when you think of a 'signature scent'.

What does it smell like?

Top notes - Rum, oud, and mix spices accord

Heart notes - Patchouli, leathery accord, cedarwood, and vanilla blossoms

Base notes - Amber, musk, and woody accord

My Go-To Into The Woods perfume oil review:

Go-To describes this as the serious scent of the bunch. The one for effortlessly cool grown-ups who, on occasion, wear heels to the office.

If the top notes of the first smells like walking into a bakery and the second, a Parisian garden, I'd compare the first roll of Into The Woods to walking through a Northern Hemisphere Christmas market, or a forest while sipping a mug of mulled wine.

I personally find this fragrance too woody and leathery for my tastes, but I think my husband would love it. It's rich, deep and spicy, but with a bit just enough uplifting sweetness.

If you gravitate towards more unique, boutique-esque fragrances that don't smell like everyone else, give this one a go.

So there you have it! Debrief complete.
