Georgia Love and Lee Elliott have finally shared what happened during their first moment of privacy.

When Georgia Love made the decision to pursue a relationship with 35-year-old Lee Elliott on the finale episode of The Bachelorette, it marked the beginning of their lives as a ‘normal’ couple.

They hadn’t had a conversation without being “mic-d up,” and hadn’t been alone without a production team surrounding them.

So, understandably, their first private moment was a little awkward.

On Wednesday night’s episode of The Project, 28-year-old Georgia said “the weirdest thing after that night…you had everyone come back and have a champagne with us and talk us through what would be happening for the next couple of days, and then they left…and we were like, ‘ohh.'”

“Are we allowed to talk about like…anything? What do we talk about?”

Lee laughed and added, “Is this the point where I ask you for your phone number?”

He explained that without the cameras, "you keep checking if you're mic-d up...but it's been incredible."

The Project panel also asked how and when Georgia knew Lee was the guy for her. Before she could answer, Lee whispered, "the first night," and Georgia laughed but agreed.

"Genuinely, that first night, and you can see it watching back, I was quite embarrassed...because I got really nervous and giggly.

"There's this amazing guy walking up to me with a donkey and I'm thinking 'what is happening? This is the stitch up guy they've cast for this show.'"

"And then he says a dad joke and looks at me with these eyes, and yeah, it was pretty hard to turn back from that."

The conversation then turned to a far more serious topic - the recent passing of Georgia's mother Belinda from pancreatic cancer.

"In the space of 24 hours we went from one of the happiest moments, where we could finally actually be in the same room together and tell everybody how we feel and be able to relax. And literally 24 hours later I got the worst phone call of my life," Georgia said.

Since her mums death, Georgia and her new partner Lee have become active campaigners for awareness around pancreatic cancer.

"We need more money to able to research, to stop other families going through what my family is going through," Georgia said.

Their latest fundraising effort is a lunch with the 16 men who featured on Georgia's season of The Bachelorette. Yep, even Matty J. Seats at the lunch are available to the highest bidders, with all money being donated to Pancare - the national organisation fighting pancreatic cancer.
