A day on from his untimely death, George Michael‘s boyfriend has shared the moment he found his partner lifeless in bed on social media.
Tweeting about the Christmas Day tragedy, Fadi Fawaz wrote, “ITs a xmas i will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx.”
The Australian hairdresser and photographer, who had been dating Michael for four years, also updated his Twitter bio to read, “I will never stop missing you xxx.”
Fawaz said he found Michael when he visited his home before the pair went for their Christmas lunch together.
“Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I,” he told the Telegraph.
53-year-old Michael (born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou) was first found unresponsive in his Oxfordshire home by Fawaz on Christmas morning. Less than an hour later he was pronounced dead.
While authorities are yet to confirm the cause of death, the Wham! singer’s manager, Michael Lippman, has told The Hollywood Reporter that he died of heart failure.
According to The Daily Mail, Kenny Goss, Michael’s ex-partner of 13 years, has also spoken out, saying he is “heartbroken over the loss of his “dear friend and long-time love.”
“He was a major part of my life and I loved him very, very much,” Goss said.
