Who else but Amal could leave George Clooney hanging?
As everyone knows, Amal Clooney is a ravishing goddess, so it’s only natural that she’s not just going to just immediately accept a marriage proposal, even if it is George Clooney doing the proposing.
The human-rights lawyer, 36, had been dating Clooney, 54, for seven months when he decided to finally end his protracted bachelorhood.
The old romantic proposed at home after he “queued up a playlist of some of my Aunt Rosemary’s songs,” but his wife-to-be was so shocked she didn’t really say anything except for “Wow!” and “Oh my God!” for quite some time.
“We just sat there and finally I said, ‘Listen, I’m 52 and I’ve been on my knee now for about 28 minutes, so I gotta get an answer out of this or I’m going to throw a hip out. I might not be able to stand back up!'” Clooney told Charlie Rose on CBS This Morning.
Amal, likely after some careful consideration, accepted Clooney’s proposal and presumably they then toasted each other’s fabulousness with shots of his own Casamigos tequila as they looked out over Lake Como from their Italian villa.
Clooney told Rose, “I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal,” but that the couple had never discussed marriage so the Lebanese-Brit was completely taken by surprise.
“I have someone I can talk to about anything, and that I care about more than anything,” he said.
They were married on September 27, 2014 in Venice by former Mayor of Rome and close friend of Clooney’s Walter Veltroni.
They’ve vowed to never spend more than a week apart.
Not even jelly at all, Amal.
