BREAKING NEWS at 10.55am:
Good news in the search for missing Sydney eight-year old Wendy Nguyen – she has been found more than five kilometres from where she was last spotted.
Just after 10am police said they found Wendy at Moore Street in Liverpool.
A police spokeswoman said she will be reunited with her family as soon as she is checked by paramedics.
UPDATE: NSW police are desperately searching for an 8-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Bonnyrigg this morning.
Wendy Nguyen was last seen walking along Bishop Crescent at Bonnyrigg and heading towards Humphries Road about 5.30am today (Friday 24 January 2014).
She’s been described as being of Asian appearance, 140cm tall, average build with long black hair and it’s believed she might be wearing a yellow or pink top.
Police are particularly concerned for Wendy’s well-being because she has autism.
According to NSW Police, “Wendy has been known to frequent shopping centres and fast food outlets”.
They are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
1. Captain Cook’s Cottage has been vandalised again.
Captain Cook’s Cottage, a feature of Melbourne’s Fitzroy Gardens, has been vandalised for the second year in a row in the lead up to Australia Day. The building has been spray painted with the message, “26th Jan, Australia’s Shame”.
