Here's everything we know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new home, Frogmore Cottage.

It turns out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to fly the royal coop.

The newlyweds will be moving out of the Kensington Palace estate and across town before their baby arrives next year.

In an official statement, Kensington Palace confirmed that when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex leave the two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace estate, they will be moving into Frogmore Cottage, on the Windsor Estate.

Although the 20-bedroom apartment beside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will become available next year, the Queen gifted the Frogmore Cottage to the couple instead.

Said “cottage” has 10 bedrooms and is currently undergoing a large renovation to modernise it before the royal baby arrives.

The 20-room Apartment 1 at Kensington Palace, next door to William & Kate’s apartment at 1a, will become available next year as the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester are moving to a smaller part of KP. But Harry & Meghan have chosen not to move there.

It needs major building work to turn it back into a luxury family home, boasting 10 bedrooms & a new nursery plus space for a gym & yoga studio. Currently it’s been chopped up into 5 units where palace staff have been living. Harry, Meghan & baby Sussex hope to move in next year.

The cottage is currently divided into five apartments and has been previously used to house members of the royal staff. The renovation will restore it to its former glory and the revamped cottage will include a nursery, a gym, and a yoga studio.

The Cottage looks out towards Frogmore House and will require an increase in security before the royal couple moves in.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are already well acquainted with the cottage, as their engagement photoshoot was held there and so was their private wedding party.

A spokesperson for the couple said in a statement: “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate. The Duke and Duchess’s office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace”.
