In July, Frances Crawford was killed in a lawnmower incident. Her husband has been charged with murder.

The husband of a Queensland mother found dead in suspicious circumstances near a ride-on lawnmower has been arrested and charged with murder and interfering with a corpse.

The body of 49-year-old Frances Elizabeth Crawford was found at the bottom of a retaining wall on a property at Upper Lockyer, west of Brisbane, at about 3.40am on July 30.

Detectives on Thursday arrested her husband, 47-year-old air force pilot Robert Crawford.

Police had previously said Mr Crawford was at the property on the night the mother-of-three died.

In a public appeal last week, homicide detectives asked people who had come into contact with Mr Crawford to come forward with any relevant information.

"Detectives can confirm a number of people have provided information since our last public appeal and thank those people for their bravery in coming forward," Queensland Police said in a statement.

Speaking to the ABC, a spokesperson for Frances' family said they were "relieved and pleased" with the progress in the case.

"The police have done a wonderful job in supporting the family through this time and in the case," they said.

Frances' family said the psychologist would be remembered as a loving mother, beloved daughter, sister, friend and dedicated health professional.

In a moving statement, the family described her as a valued member of her church and community.

"Her death has been devastating to us all, even more so given the circumstances," the statement said.

"Frances' passing will profoundly affect each of us for the rest of our lives, but none more so than her three beautiful children."

The family thanked police, saying they had been "relentless in their investigations in an effort to provide us answers".

"While today is a step forward, sadly nothing will bring Frances back to us," they said.

"We know we still have a long and difficult road ahead, both in grieving Frances and processing what has occurred."

The family also thanked the community for their support and requested privacy.

Crawford is expected to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday.
