FLUFF: Gwyneth Paltrow accused of sexualising young girls.

1. Gwyneth Paltrow has been accused of sexualising young girls.

Yes. That’s right.

Gwyneth is selling a range of bikinis for young girls on her website, Goop.  The aim is apparently to allow mums and their daughters to have matching outfits at the beach…

We’ve collaborated with Melissa Odabash on several exclusive (and super cute) beachwear items for girls. Now your daughter can have a Melissa Odabash bikini too. Hers is navy with ruffles on the top and bottom, and ties on the back and sides. 4, 6 and 8 year old sizing.

But, Paltrow, 40, has copped criticism from some who believe she is contributing to the sexualisation of children.

The Daily Mail quoted Claude Knight of charity Kidscape: “We remain opposed to the sexualisation of children and childhood.  The dangers have been discussed at length, so it is a great pity that such trends continue and that they carry celebrity endorsement.”

Paltrow’s spokesperson called the criticism “absurd” and added that “Two-piece bathing suits have been worn by young girls for decades.”

3. Madonna’s homeless brother arrested.

Anthony Gerard Ciccone, 56, has reportedly been living on the streets of Michigan for 3 years. US news outlets are reporting he got into a tussle with police officers when he refused to leave a bathroom in a public building. According to the New York Post, Anthony ended up with 9 stitches and is expected to be charged.

Although his parents live nearby on a sprawling vineyard, Madonna’s older brother has allegedly been living on the streets and suffering from a serious alcohol addiction.

US late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel sent a reporter to America’s biggest hipster music festival, Coachella.

The reporter interviewed festival-goers as they were entering the grounds, asking them about particular bands that were playing. Everyone seemed to know a lot about the bands mentioned and had nothing but good things to say about them. They were really, REALLY excited to see them play.

The punch-line? NONE OF THE BANDS EXIST.

7. Joan Rivers’ writing staff go on strike.

Rivers, 79, produces and hosts weekly E! reality show ‘Fashion Police’, in which she and fellow hosts Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos judge all the celebrity fashion of the week (usually with a few bitchy comments thrown in).

Rivers (like most comedians) has a staff of writers who produce witty banter for her whip out on the show. But now 13 staff have come forward and revealed that they are overworked and underpaid, one even referring to the environment as a “joke sweatshop”. Apparently writers are only paid for 8 hours per show, despite often working 35 hours or more.

E! has released a statement saying, “Joan Rivers has gone on record repeatedly that she supports the Fashion Police writers and wants a fair agreement for them.” But, that’s of little consequence to the writers, who have said the best thing she could do (as she is also a write on the show) is go on strike herself. She has yet to go that far, and the group showed their anger by picketing one of her stand-up shows on Monday night.

9. Jennifer Lawrence and award shows just don’t mix.

The 22-year-old was invited to present an award to former US President Bill Clinton at the GLAAD Media awards over the weekend. But, it wouldn’t be an awards ceremony with Jennifer Lawrence unless Jennifer Lawrence made an adorable gaffe.
