New study reveals 1 in 68 kids has Autism.

A 30 per cent rise in the number of children with autism in the United States has now seen one in 68 diagnosed with the condition. The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention have released the new data which shows that the ‘proportion of children with autism and high IQ (is) on the rise.’ Previously, one in 88 children had autism spectrum disorder. The data has also confirmed that boys are five times more likely to have autism that girls, with one in 189 girls compared with one in 42 boys being diagnosed.

Brisbane named ‘World’s Ugliest City.’

Alain de Botton, UK television presenter and leading philosopher, has publicly declared that Brisbane is the ugliest city in the world, describing the Queensland city as a fantastic example of 'chaotic ugliness.' Botton has heaped criticism on Brisbane on his website, saying "no one looks at the waterfront of Brisbane, the capital of the Australian state of Queensland, and feels deeply moved by the grace and sweetness of the scene." He then tweeted a link to his post and asked "why Brisbane is the ugliest city?." Though Botton can clearly locate Brisbane's geographical location, he struggled to visually pin point it, posting an image of Ipswich (right) to his site instead of the sunny city.

Bribery to raise the birth rate

A Danish travel agency in is encouraging couples to travel in order to increase the country's birth rate, which currently stands at a 27-year low. 'Do It For Denmark!' explains that statistically 10 per cent of children are conceived during holidays and that men and women's libidos are boosted when they take time off. Fire-fighters sing 'Let It Go' to girl stuck in lift.

A team of Reading firefighters (right) have helped rescue a young girl trapped inside a lift by encouraging her to climb up a ladder through song. The firemen, who just happened to be fathers, were attempting to rescue 4-year-old Kaelyn Kerr, her brother Jackson and mum Kristin from the jammed lift when Kaelyn started panicking. After starting up a conversation with the girl, the firemen discovered that she was a fan of Disney's hit movies, Frozen, and began singing Let It Go along with their iPhones. They were able to gain Kaelyn's trust and assist her up the ladder to safety.

Totally scary 'Faces of meth' campaign relaunches.

The organisation behind the well-known 'Faces of Meth' campaign from a decade ago have launched a second, even more disturbing campaign. 'More Than Meth' highlights the physical toll drug addiction has on users, sharing a timeline of drug addict's mug shots. Rehabs.com have launched the new infographic with shocking before and after photos to prove to the public how quickly a healthy person can become unrecognisable when using drugs such as meth, cocaine, heroin and oxycodone.
