The final show of Wake Up on Ten aired this morning – to tears, whoops of support, and the best sign-off ever.
Natarsha Belling broke down as she said goodbye, with co-host James Mathison comforting her. The final line of the show was this, from James: “Let’s hug it out, bitches.”
And they did.
Immediately following the last episode this morn, the Wake Up team posted this lovely note to their Facebook page:
To all of our wonderful viewers,
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing to wake up with us every morning. We are humbled by the amazing support you’ve given us. Our aim was simply to put a smile on your face each morning — we hope we did that. If we ever managed to make you go on with your day feeling a little bit happier, then we did our job.
We’d also like to thank all the extraordinary people who have been part of this journey. Our guests — without you we are nothing. All the talented people in Manly, across Australia and around the globe, who helped put the show together every day. We have enjoyed every minute of it.
With all our love,
Tarsh, James, Nuala and all the team at Wake Up

The Studio 10 team posted this sweet tweet:
But the best tweet of all has to be James Mathison’s from last night, spruiking the end of the show’s six-month run:
Wake Up started six months ago with millions spent on a studio on Queenscliff beach and the promise to change breakfast television. It was axed this week as Network Ten announced a series of savage cuts at the ailing station, including 150 job losses.
We look forward to seeing what the fabulously talented team do next.
All the best guys. x
