David and Emily just got married in the sweetest ceremony on Farmer Wants A Wife.

When fourth-generation apple farmer David McMahon met special education aide Emily on the 2023 season of Farmer Wants A Wife, neither could have predicted they'd be walking down the aisle just over a year later. But that's exactly what just happened for this adorable couple who've proven that reality TV romance can indeed lead to lasting love.

While the couple have previously — yet very subtly — confirmed their nuptials on social media, we have yet to see any glimpses into the actual day.

But on tonight's episode of FWAW, David and Emily officially tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Stanthorpe, Queensland.

Their heartfelt vows left not a dry eye in the house, with the couple's raw emotion and genuine love for one another shining through.

"You can light up a room with your charm, your smile and, of course, your incredible dance moves," Emily said.

"Every person here is lucky to have you in their life, but I feel the luckiest because I get to be loved by you. I love you."

David then took his turn to share his promises.

"Emily… meeting you is undoubtedly the biggest achievement of my life. I promise to continue to tell you I love you every day, no matter what life throws at us," David responded in his vows.

"I promise that my goals are now our goals."

The couple shared photos from their nuptials with New Idea, telling the publication they couldn't wait to start a family.

"We are very excited to have a family on the farm," Emily said.

"We are very lucky to have a few nieces and nephews starting to come on the scene, so there's a lot of family chat and we're looking forward to having kids to join their cousins," David added.

From nervous first introductions on the farm to exchanging vows surrounded by loved ones, let's take a look back at David and Emily's FWAW love story.

The chemistry was chemistry-ing almost immediately between David and Emily during filming in early 2023. Their connection was particularly evident during their first double date at David's childhood primary school, where Emily's natural rapport with the children impressed both David and viewers alike.

"Straight away, Emily's got that funny, natural, bubbly energy that the kids warm to," David remarked during the episode, clearly smitten.

As the weeks progressed on the show, their bond continued to strengthen despite some understandable concerns from Emily's family about her potentially leaving city life behind for David's apple farm in Pozieres, Queensland.

The show's finale presented a dramatic moment when Emily bravely put her heart on the line, telling David: "I just think I am falling in love with you, and it's been amazing, and I'm very vulnerable to say that."

In the end, David ultimately chose Emily in his final decision.

"Emily, you are the most genuine person I know... I know you haven't had many serious relationships, but starting today this can be your first and hopefully your last," he told her.

Following the show, Emily made the significant decision to relocate from Brisbane to Pozieres, bringing her beloved dog Bailey along for the adventure.

"I'm just so used to my routine and I knew that was going to change but I was excited to get involved with the community here... I was really fortunate that things kind of moved quickly, so nothing's been really that hard," she told 7Life.

Emily seamlessly integrated into country life, now working at a local primary school and teaching dance classes in the community.

David humorously updated fans about Emily's dog adapting to farm life, writing on Instagram: "In other news Bailey is settling in well and starting to get his head around invoicing."

David and Emily announced their engagement.

Just months after the show aired, in October 2023, the couple announced their engagement on Instagram.

"Incredibly proud to announce, this Farmer has found his Wife," David captioned the announcement photo, while Emily shared a sweet video with the caption: "My person for life x Love you."

The couple maintained their privacy regarding wedding plans, but recently confirmed they tied the knot in October 2024, exactly one year after their engagement. Emily shared the news alongside photos from their honeymoon.

"Holidaying with the love of my life as Mr & Mrs," she wrote.

David and Emily represent one of the genuine success stories from the reality dating show, with their relationship flourishing beyond the TV cameras.

Approximately 18 months after their Farmer Wants A Wife journey concluded, the couple continues to build their life together on David's apple farm.
