In 2023, Farmer Matt and Olivia fell in love on reality TV. Now, they have big news to share.

It's been five months since Farmer Wants a Wife sent its final couples off into the sunset.

But already, Channel 7 has announced its next batch of Aussie farmers looking for love in 2025. Eight men have been selected, ranging in ages from 21 to 35, hoping to find their special one.

Considering this show's track record of creating nine marriages, seven lasting relationships and 21 kids — they're in good company.

The 2024 season ended with just four relationships going strong, as Teegan and Farmer Dean announced during the reunion that they had split after the finale.

"Being so far away from my support network [and] I guess not having Dean there was quite hard on myself, [and it] made our romantic relationship kind of fall apart a little bit," Teegan said at the reunion.

"[I had] some really, really fun times with Dean on the farm. I don't regret anything anything about it."

But they weren't the only couple to call it quits following the finale. Let's catch up on what's happened since the reunion for the 2024 couples. Plus, we check in on two 2023 couples with some important updates.

Farmer Matt and Olivia from the 2023 season welcome a baby boy.

In news that makes the world of Aussie reality TV feel more wholesome, Farmer Matt and Olivia from the 2023 season have since welcomed their first baby together - a beautiful baby boy named Henry.

Back in August, after a very private pregnancy, the pair announced to their Instagram that after "286 days of carrying [Henry], 8 hours of labour without pain relief" Olivia had given birth to their baby.

Speaking to Woman's Day this month, Olivia gushed about this new chapter in their lives and reassured fans that, despite the challenges, the two are navigating it as a team.

"We're navigating parenthood, but we've got each other," Olivia said, "We have a laugh because we always run into these fun little challenges — like telly,
and even moving in together — but just like everything else, we've taken this head-on."

While the couple met on a public form (you don't get much more public than national TV), they have remained fairly private since their season of Farmer Wants A Wife.

"After being on Farmer, we realised we wanted to keep some things private. We just wanted to keep this pregnancy for us," Olivia told Woman's Day. "We told our close circle when we were about 15 weeks and no-one said anything. No-one dobbed us in."

The couple had been fan-favourites on the show, with viewers rooting for the two to end up together in the 2023 season finale. Little did we know, things were already going strong before the finale aired and it was all kept under wraps to not spoil the ending of the show.

"[It's] very exciting — we don't have to wear moustaches all the time," Olivia told 7News at the time, after the finale aired. "The locals have been really good at keeping the news quiet… They have held onto it tightly and they just gossip amongst themselves," Matt said.

Farmer Andrew from the 2023 season breaks silence over cancelled wedding.

In mid-July, Claire Saunders mysteriously announced that her planned wedding to Farmer Andrew had been cancelled.

Until now, Andrew has not said a peep about it but he's finally shared his own lengthy statement.

"It feels the right time to share what's been happening in my life on the farm and beyond," he began.

"For someone who's more used to being surrounded by sheep and nature than the buzz of social media, this is a bit out of the box. But here goes."

Andrew went on the acknowledge the reality show that brought him and Claire together.

"I never imagined meeting such an amazing group of women, each with their own spirit and story. It was exciting and humbling, reminding me of how important love and connection are," he said.

"Amidst it all, one extraordinary woman captured my heart, and we decided to give it a shot."

He went on to say that the pressures of the outside environment took a toll on their relationship.

"We moved in together, dreaming of a future where our love would grown alongside the farm. It was fast-paced, passionate and fun. But life had other plans. Despite all the love and effort we both gave, sometimes things just don't work out. Living together brought its own challenges, and we realised our paths weren't meant to stay intertwined."

"Though it didn't lead us where we hoped, it helped us grow. It's been a huge outlay of heart and soul. And while it's painful to walk away, we've both emerged stronger, wiser, and more attuned to what really matters," he said.

"As I move forward, I'm choosing to celebrate the love we shared, the lessons learned, and the strength gained."

Claire announced they called off their wedding.

It was Claire who first shared the news two months ago.

"Andrew and I have had to cancel our wedding due to reasons out of our control, but we are both okay," Claire wrote on Instagram, adding that she was heading to Darwin for work despite Andrew living in NSW. Welp.

"I’m not sure what else to say other than, sometimes life is hard and we all just need a little breathing space," she wrote, before adding an ominous "There will be no farming content from me for the foreseeable future."

At the time, Andrew did not address his cancelled wedding on his own Instagram. Instead, Claire gave a spicy update.

The bride-to-be posted her wedding dress for sale on Facebook Marketplace, selling the gown for $1,500.

"Selling my beautiful dress," she wrote on her Facebook page. "It actually looks better in real life. Comes with or without sleeves. Pick up Narromine, Dubbo or Launceston."

According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Claire responded to a Facebook comment asking if she was doing okay by saying, "I'm okay, I'd rather be where I am now instead of being married to a selfish F wit!!"

Andrew and Claire announced on Instagram they had gotten engaged on March 17, 2024, four months after celebrating their first anniversary. But Claire has since deleted the announcement post from her Instagram page.

Sarah has confirmed that she and Joe are no longer together.

Just a few months ago, Sarah was publicly defending her relationship with Joe amid rumours that they hadn't made it outside of the show.

Now, she's back with an update confirming the news that had long been rumoured. The reality star took to her Instagram Stories to share that she and Joe broke up "a few weeks ago."

"I was really hoping to not have to do this as I'm a very private person, but it's incredibly hard to heal while constantly receiving questions and comments about the status of my relationship," she wrote.

"Joe and I separated a few weeks ago. This has been one of the hardest times of my life so I want to sincerely thank those who have sent kind messages checking in on me and for welcoming me into this community.

"It's been difficult without my friends and family around me but the kindness that has been shown is something I'll never forget."

She wrapped up her message by asking for privacy, stating she's "not ready to talk" yet because she's "still processing the information" herself.

Joe has yet to release a statement of his own.

Since choosing Sarah over Keely in the finale, their relationship has faced constant speculation from outsiders, with many viewers predicting it wouldn't last beyond the show.

In fact, after the final episode, both Joe and Sarah felt compelled to defend their relationship. Joe told people to "back off," while Sarah took to Instagram to express similar sentiments.

"What was supposed to be a happy episode for us, turned out to be very different," Sarah wrote on Instagram. "It's heartbreaking when your true story isn't shown, to the point that it leads the audience to be absolutely dumbfounded by the Farmer's choice.

"I have read some really awful things that people have said not only about myself, but about Joe… You should be ashamed of yourself.

"You do not see everything, please remember that."

As for the rest of the FWAW contestants, there are two couples still together since the 2024 reunion.

While four couples emerged from the finale, only two have stayed together. Beginning with Farmer Dustin, he's still going strong with his chosen gal, Sophie.

"As soon as I saw you, I thought, 'you're absolutely gorgeous'," Dustin said in the finale.

"One thing you've taught me is to open up and be vulnerable. It's definitely made me into a better person."

The couple are still going strong.

Farmer Todd found his match in Daisy with the twosome still together and posting wholesome content on Instagram.

"Finding love is a big risk," he told Daisy. "I'm willing to take the risk with you, Daisy. I can finally give you the reassurance that I am definitely falling in love with you."

Todd and Daisy are still together.

Sarah and Farmer Tom announce their split... and it sounds messy.

In sad news, Farmer Tom and Sarah have since parted ways. Sarah curiously announced the news, alongside photos of herself and the other girls and crew on Tom's farm, but chose to exclude any photos of the couple.

"I applied to FWAW with the sole intention of falling in love with Tom and I certainly surprised myself with how deeply I felt for him in a short amount of time.

"Unfortunately, that lifelong love that I was seeking with Tom did not turn out the way that I had hoped it would, but it's definitely a relief now to put that truth out there that Tom and I are no longer together," she wrote.

She then hinted the split was not totally amicable. "Relationships don't always work and people are not always who you think they are. I can hold the knowledge that I gave my all to the experience and our relationship during, and since, the show, and I am really proud of that," she said.

"I believe that no love is ever wasted, and I'm so glad that I can still give that love to the beautiful family and friends in my life who supported me so much all the way through, plus a few more friends thanks to this experience! I feel so lucky to have met a bunch of women who were brave and beautiful, inside and out."

Rather curiously, Tom chose not to release a statement regarding his split from Sarah.

A planned queer couple were cut from 2024 season.

Since FWAW first premiered, viewers have called out its startling lack of diversity — with a traditionally all-white, all-men, all-cis cast each season. And it turns out that efforts to remedy this were shelved on the 2024 season, with Yahoo Lifestyle reporting that plans for a same-sex pairing were dropped due to a "lack of interest from the queer community during the application process," an insider claimed.

"Those plans have been dropped due to a lack of suitable applicants from both same-sex attracted farmers and potential love interests," the insider stated.

"It’s not for lack of trying… While there were a handful of options, in the end, the farmers picked were more suitable based on their personalities this time around. We wouldn't want it to feel like stunt casting."
