Grant Denyer has announced the end of Family Feud, and what are we supposed to do now?

It’s over, game show fans.

Grant Denyer announced the end of his game show, Family Feud, on Tuesday, and we are shook.

Speaking on the 2DayFM Breakfast Show with Em, Grant & Ed, Grant told his co-hosts Em Rusciano and Ed Kavalee that he had a “big announcement”.

Family Feud is wrapping up,” the 40-year-old media personality informed them.

He then went on to say that while the show was “a huge success”, nobody expected it to last quite this long.

“We thought we’d only get two years out of it, so it was really lovely to stretch it to four,” he said.

All up, Grant hosted a massive 1200 episodes.

“I’ve said ‘survey says’ 30,000 times already,” he joked.

Although he’s “a bit sad” about it coming to an end, Grant said it was ultimately time to move on.

“It came along at a time when I was looking for something new and a fun new challenge, and it kind of re-birthed me, so then you have kind of a sentimentality towards it,” he said.

He also thinks they probably pushed the show a little bit too hard.

“It did good things, but we’re probably guilty of driving it into the ground a little bit too early,” he admitted.

“We gave it a bit too much… Six days a week, twice a day… We might have squeezed that lemon a little bit too much.”

And while it may be the end of Family Feud, Grant assured us it’s not the end of his television career. He said he’s working on “big new projects”, but wouldn’t really elaborate further than that.

He also admitted he was never really comfortable with his role as a game show host.

“The game show host is a tag that I’ve never really liked or enjoyed, to be honest. But I’ve had the best time, and we made it fun and silly and stupid,” he added.

Still, Grant maintained he was “proud” of everything the show accomplished.

“It’s been the one thing that’s brought a lot of people together, and I’m proud of that,” he said.
