These are the eyeshadow colours guaranteed to make your eyes pop.

Whether you’re a blue-eyed baby, a green-eyed goddess or a brown-eyed girl, you’ll probably have noticed some shades of eyeshadows make your colour pop while others, well, not so much.

To help you out we’ve created a step-by-step guide to picking the palette that will make your eyes sparkle, in some cases quite literally.

The ‘colour wheel theory‘ states that you just have to find the nearest match to your eyes on a simple colour wheel and the colours on the opposite side of the spectrum will make the best eye shadow colours.

But we have a few other tips as well. Here’s what you need to know.

Eyeshadows for blue eyes.

Metallics. All of them. Seriously.

Gold or silver, copper or cool, all metallics suit blue eyes. But if they’re not what you’re into, oranges, rich browns, light pinks and deep midnight blues are also all go-to’s, while bright colours like blue, pink and purple are an absolute no.

Eyeshadows for green eyes.

Green eyes can be both a blessing and a curse.

Yes, they can give the impression of big sparkling emeralds on either side of your nose but they’re also notoriously difficult to dress up with eyeshadows.

But you know the one colour guaranteed to be a hit? Purple.

Yep, purple. Don’t freak out, though. Purple shades can be anything from a muted lavender to a vivid electric violet or plum.

Eyeshadows for brown eyes.

Congratulations! If you’ve got brown eyes pretty much any colour will suit you just fine.

Except one: Pink.

Sorry.

You can have metallics, you can have smokey eyes, hell, you can even pinch off of green eyes and add a hit of purple. But pink? Stay away.
