Married At First Sight's Erin: "Today all of my stupidity has caught up with me."

She may have found love on Married At First Sight, but this time TV personality Erin Bateman has found herself in some serious hot water.

Having lost her license following a speeding incident, Bateman expressed her remorse online. The 26-year-old reality star took to her Instagram to share her message with her nearly 54,000 followers:

“Hey everyone, not a traditional ‘Erin Post’ today..” the post began.

“The 24/06/16 marks my first day of me not having a license. When I was younger I made a lot of stupid decisions and never truly understood the consequences of my actions.”

"Today all of my stupidity has caught up with me, and what has been 3 years of mistakes in the making has resulted in me losing my drivers license for 6 months."

Bateman continued to express her guilt for her past actions, thankful that nothing worse had come from her poor decisions, but fearful that it could have.

"Although now I understand the importance of acting responsibly behind the wheel of a car, the reality is this could have been a VERY different outcome."

Bateman showed her humility, accepting her punishment publicly and hoping that her considerable fanbase might learn from her mistakes.

“All I can say is how ashamed I am that as a young adult I didn’t put my own safety and the safety of others before ‘getting somewhere fast’ and today I pay the price for that."

“I’m not going to fight this, make excuses or even complain, I’m going to wear it and learn. Don’t be a f--king idiot behind the wheel of a car like I was, be safe so your loved ones never have to worry about you."

Bateman first found fame on Channel 9's hit show, Married At First Sight, where she fell in love with fellow cast mate, Bryce. Since then the couple has dodged fan speculation of engagement rings and pregnancies, and has been seen going on dates publicly with the show's other couple: Christie and Mark.

In the wake of these recent events, we know one thing: Erin won't be the one driving to any future double dates.
