Congratulations, Emma.
Radio and TV star Emma Freedman has been through a lot over the past year.
Now it’s been announced she has a shiny new job, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
Freedman, 26, is set to be the National Drive News Presenter with Southern Cross Austereo, the network announced last night.
Since January, Emma has been co-hosting The Scoopla Show with Jules Lund and Emma Freedman, broadcasting nationally from 6pm weeknights.
But her new role on the network will involve delivering national news inside the Hamish and Andy show and through other show appearances, including The Scoopla Show.
Since being dumped as weather presenter in December by Channel Nine’s Today show — a move that shocked her many fans — Emma has been seriously busy.
She most recently won Channel Seven’s Dancing with the Stars, becoming the first woman to win that title (and giant disco-ball trophy) since 2007.
