As of yesterday morning, Em Rusciano is a prime-time Sydney radio host. But that doesn’t mean she’s leaving Melbourne.
Much as been made of the fact the newly minted 2Day FM breakfast show personality and her co-host Harley Breen haven’t relocated for the gig.
But in a Facebook Live video this week, the 37-year-old comedian explained that, with three other other lives to consider, it’s not as simple as packing a bag and crossing the border.
“I sat down with my family in a family meeting and I said, ‘Do you guys want to move to Sydney?’ and they all said 'No'," she said.
“I’m not a selfish person and I’m not going to make my children uproot their lives for a job. Look, who knows how long its going to last - let’s be realistic.”
Rusciano and Breen have taken over from Rove McManus and Sam Frost who were shafted from the prime-time slot amid lacklustre ratings.
Speaking to her Facebook followers, Rusciano noted her audience is more likely to care about the quality of the broadcast than where it's coming from.
“Sometimes we’ll be in the Sydney studio; sometimes we won’t," she said.
"Some people will try to make a big deal out of it, but it’s not a big deal. I don’t think you guys give a shit.”
