The names and faces of the 31 victims of the El Paso and Ohio shootings.

This past weekend in America saw 31 people lose their lives from two respective terror attacks.

Within just 13 hours of each other, America grieved the losses of the victims of two massacres.

The first massacre occurred on Saturday morning in the heavily Hispanic border city of El Paso, Texas, where a gunman killed 20 people at a Walmart store before surrendering to police.

Across the country, in the early hours of Sunday, a gunman opened fire in a downtown district of Dayton, Ohio.

Here are the victim’s names, faces and stories.

Lois Oglesby

Lois Oglesby, 27, was seeing her friends for the first time after giving birth to her second child, before she was fatally shot.

Her partner, Daryl, recalled his last conversations with Lois, known as Lola, moments before she passed: "She FaceTimed me and said 'Babe I just got shot in my head, I need to get to my kids.

"She was letting me know she loved me and to take care of these kids... I got you babe. I can't stop crying," he wrote on Facebook.

She was a nursing student.

Megan Betts

Megan Betts, 22, was the youngest of those killed in the Ohio shooting. Her brother was the gunman.

With her brother and a male companion, the three drove to the Ohio bar together, unaware of her brother's deadly plans.

Although police have not given details of the siblings’ relationship, a number of photos and Facebook posts have emerged, portraying a seemingly close bond between the two.

A neighbour and former classmate has remembered Megan Betts, as "a sweetheart, very funny – she was strange in a very good way".

Thomas McNichols

Thomas McNichols, 25, was a father of four – ranging in ages from two to eight years old – when he lost his life in the Ohio shooting.

Affectionately known as TeeJay, he has been described as a "gentle giant" by his Aunty.

"Everybody loved him. He was like a big kid," his Aunty Donna Johnson told local media. "When all of the movies come out – Batman, Black Panther – he would get all his nephews and take them to the movies."

Logan Turner

Logan Turner had turned 30 years old the Tuesday before, and was celebrating on the weekend when he lost his life in the Ohio shooting. He had an engineering degree, and recently started working as a machinist.

His mum, Danita Turner, told local media he was "smart and sweet".

"He was very generous and loving and the world’s best son," she continued. "Everyone loved Logan. He was a happy go lucky guy."

Derrick Fudge

Derrick Fudge was a 57-year-old father, who was out with friends and family on the weekend.

He has been described by his sister Twyla Southall as a man who "loved his family". He lost his life in his son's arms after being shot in Ohio.

His son recalled to CNN the last moments he had with his father, saying: "He looked at me, he was breathing. He just lied there with his eyes open in my arms. I just kept saying, 'I love you, get up, get up'."

Monica Brickhouse and Beatrice Warren-Curtis

Monica Brickhouse, 39, and Beatrice Warren-Curtis, 36, were close friends and out together when they both lost their lives in the Dayton, Ohio shooting.

"This just can’t be real," a friend of the pair, Brittany, wrote on Facebook. "I just saw you both a month ago after my mom's passing. Like you two have always done y’all checked in on my family and made your love for my family known."

Saheed Saleh

Saheed Saleh was a 38-year-old man and an Eritrea native. He is remembered as a kind-hearted man.

Nicholas Cumer

Cumer was a graduate student in the master of cancer core program at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.

"We remember you leading with heart and we remember your generous spirit," his University has said in a heartfelt statement. "We remember watching you grow as a student, musician, caregiver, and person during your time at Saint Francis University."

Jordan and Andre Anchondo

Jordan, 25, and Andre Anchondo, 23, had been married for one year when they died in the El Paso shooting.

Jordan Anchondo’s sister shared the couple died while protecting their two-month-old son, who suffered injuries from the attack but has survived, according to Associated Press.

David Johnson

David Johnson, 63, has been remembered a hero, as he died protecting his wife, Kathy Johnson, and nine-year-old granddaughter, Kaitlyn Melendez, from being shot.

His nephew, Dominic Patridge, has remembered his uncle as "the kindest and most giving individual I've ever known."

Javier Amir Rodriguez 

Javier Amir Rodriguez was 15 years old when he was gunned down in the El Paso massacre. He was about to start his sophomore year in high school at Horizon High School in El Paso. But instead of celebrating this milestone this week, his family was attending his memorial.

Leonard Cipeda Campos and Maribel Loya

Leonard Cipeda Campos, 41, has been remembered by 'The Texas American Federation of Teachers' as an alumnus of their organisation. A post to their Facebook saw them remember their loved member, along with Maribel Loya, 56, who also lost her life in the El Paso shooting.

"You and Maribel would light up the room with your joy & love. Some of my most fond memories are with you two laughing & drinking. My heart bleeds for your families. You'll be missed," one friend commented on the post.

Gloria Irma Marquez

Gloria Irma Marquez, 61, has been remembered as a "dedicated mother, grandmother and friend," after she was shot during the El Paso shooting. A GoFundMe page has been set up by her four kids to help pay for the sudden costs of losing their mother.

Elsa Mendoza Márquez

Elsa Mendoza Márquez, 57, is from Mexico originally and was visiting family in El Paso. She was in Walmart picking up school supplies while her husband and son waited outside when she was gunned down.

Her relatives said in a statement: "Elsa Mendoza Marquez dear sister, wife and mother, we will always remember her for her joy of living and the love she gave us."

Maria and Raul Flores

Maria and Raul Flores, both aged 77 years old and understood to be U.S. citizens, have been identified as victims of the El Paso terror attack.

Jorge Calvillo García

Jorge Calvillo García, 61, was at Walmart raising money for his granddaughter's soccer team when he was gunned down.

His nephew Raul Ortega told KFOX14 he died trying to protect his granddaughter Emily from the gunman.

María Eugenia Legarreta Rothe

María Eugenia Legarreta Rothe, 58, had stopped at Walmart to briefly purchase a few household items while on her way to pick up her daughter at the airport, reported Telediaro Juarez, a Spanish-language newspaper. She is from Mexico.

Alexander Gerhard Hoffman

Authorities say Alexander Gerhard Hoffman, 66, is a German national. He lost his life during the El Paso shooting.

Arturo Benavides

Arturo Benavides, 60, was the cash register at Walmart when he was fatally shot dead. He was an army veteran.

His niece, Jacklin Luna, described her uncle to BuzzFeed as "a strong-willed, caring, giving, and special person."

Angie Englisbee

Angie Englisbee, 86, was a mother of seven and standing in the checkout line when she was fatally shot. She had ended a phone call with her son just minutes before the shooting.

Her granddaughter, Mia Peake told New York Times, "She was he was a very strong person, very blunt. It feels like hell — it doesn’t feel real."

Luis Alfonzo Juarez

Luis Alfonzo Juarez, 90, was the oldest victim of the shooting.

Sara Esther Regalado and Adolfo Cerros Hernández

Sarah Esther Regaldo Moriel, 66, and Adolfo Cerros Hernandez, 68, were a couple who have been remembered on Facebook by a relative as the "best family possible" who will remembered "in the soul".

Margie Reckard

Margie Reckard, 63, also lost her life during the El Paso massacre. Her partner of 22 years, Antonio Basco, told Reuters: "I’ve been lost. I’m like a puppy run away from its mumma. She took care of me.

"But my wife, she’d say get up off your rear end and grow up. Because now I’ve got to take care of the bills, take care of the cat."

Ivan Manzano

Ivan Manzano was 46 years old, the father of two had children aged nine and five, and is from Juarez, Mexico.

Juan de Dios Velázquez Chairez

The 77-year-old is from Zacatecas, Mexico originally, and had been retired while living in El Paso for the last two years.

He was doing his weekly shopping at Walmart, with his wife Nicholasa, when he was fatally shot. His wife was injured in the attack, but survived.

Teresa Sanchez

Teresa Sanchez was an 82-year-old woman from Mexico.
