Every single night, six-year-old Sophia vomits over 20 times. But she's not sick.

Every single night, Carrie Golledge wakes to the sound of her six-year-old daughter weeping.

For months on end, Carrie’s daughter Sophia has spent long nights awake and vomiting.

But Sophia isn’t sick.

Sophia is being bullied.

Sharing a heart-wrenching photo of her daughter curled up on a hospital bed, UK mum Carrie shared the devastating effect bullying has had on her little girl.

“This is what bullying does,” Carrie wrote on Facebook.

"This is my six-year-old daughter, hospitalised, due to bullying.

"This is my child with such a caring heart that despite being so ill, she 'doesn't want to get in trouble'.

"This is my child who has stopped eating, has cried herself to sleep, has anxiety so severe she's sick over 20 times in an hour through the night."

In the post that has now been shared more than 230,000 times, Carrie said that her young daughter has been admitted to hospital "countless" times for treatment for severe anxiety.

Carrie believes the issues began when her daughter's best friend became "emotionally abusive".

Despite reporting the bullying to her daughter's school, the school has reportedly taken little action with Carrie told that "it's just six year olds being six year olds".

"This is my child who has been mocked on social media by the bully's parents for having such a pure heart," Carrie's Facebook post continued.

"This is my child who was told by the school she should be the one feeling ashamed and be snuck in a side door of a morning."

Carrie has since been forced to move Sophia to another school.

"This is my child who doesn't want this to happen to anyone else," Carrie concluded the post.

Since sharing the initial post on Monday, Carrie has thanked the hundreds of people who sent messages of support for her young daughter.

"This is becoming so much bigger than I imagined and is not just for Sophia but for everyone who has gone through this and everyone who is too scared to tell their story," she said.
