Drew Barrymore’s young daughters might be in for a shock when they open their presents this Christmas.
The actress has revealed to People magazine her girls, four-year-old Olive and two-year-old Frankie, won’t be receiving any toys from her.
But, as Barrymore explains, there’s a very good reason. And the pair will get something they’re sure to enjoy just as much.
“Instead of buying them toys, because I’m obviously cautious and don’t want to spoil them, I buy them lots of arts and crafts.”
The 41-year-old, who was talking to People about her own crafty creations, said there were many benefits to this type of gift.
“They’re more inclined to share, it’s more communal, they make stuff,” she said.
“And I think it’s very perspective-appropriate because they’re making things. A made thing is the best gift always.”
Drew said her daughters were much “craftier” than she was, but that didn’t stop her from trying to make her own personalised gifts.
