There are two types of people in the world.
Those who love watching pimples and blackheads being squeezed. And those who find it absolutely, dead-set revolting.
I am the first kind of person. And I’m not afraid to say it.
In fact, I’m a little bit addicted to it. Actually, make that a lot.
If there is a situation that I’m feeling stressed about – I’ll head to Dr Pimple Popper’s Instagram and watch some blackheads being squeezed out of some poor bloke’s nose. As soon as I see a long bit of muck extracted, I feel instantly better.
Monique Bowley and Holly Wainwright – both non-popper fans – were forced to watch Dr Pimple Popper on the latest episode of Mamamia OutLoud:
If I’m feeling really stressed I might watch a big white cyst being extracted from someone’s back.
And if I can’t sleep. Chances are I’ll be on youtube, watching Dr Sandra Lee (aka Dr Pimple Popper) work her magic.
Heck, sometimes, I wish I had her job.
I realise this may sound strange to some people.
I know it does. My boss thinks I am weird. My grandma thinks there’s something wrong with me. And my boyfriend can’t work out why I keep showing him things being squeezed out of people.
“Why would you want to watch that?” They chime.
“How revolting” they say.
“I can’t believe you actually get pleasure out of that.”

But it actually works. It’s a stress reliever. And the satisfaction I get from seeing someone without a big boil on their back is glorious. It makes me feel better.
AND BEFORE YOU START JUDGING ME (it’s probably too late for that)… I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
