When the second season of Seven Year Switch premiered on Monday night, it wasn’t one of the contestants who stole the show, but a sex toy – the dirty, grimy vibrator of all our nightmares.
When Kaitlyn pulled out her vibrator on Monday’s episode, social media let out a collective ‘eugh’, because everyone knows you need to clean your vibrator before you put it on national TV, right? RIGHT?
The vibrator in question was a light colour, with grooves around the head (?) that seemed to be filled with some kind of 'matter'.
Now Sexologist and Relationship Expert, Dr Nikki Goldstein, has responded to the furore, telling people to "hold off the critical tweets".
In her blog post, Dr Goldstein addressed the issue of the dirty vibrator explaining that it was probably a result of where Kaitlyn stores it.

The sexologist and relationship expert also responded to comments that the sex toy was quite large, saying that it "doesn't get inserted" as some people might have initially thought.
Goldstein explained that the vibrator is a take on the original Hitachi massage wands from the 1960s, which women were purchasing to massage a different part of their body than what was originally intended.
"The head is used to massage the clitoral area and due to the cord being able to be plugged in for power, the strength is rather intense, which some woman prefer," she wrote.
"In addition to this, as many as 80% of woman reach orgasm through clitoral stimulation so it might not say anything about their sex life expect (sic) for the fact that they might have an active one and she might be having regular orgasms (something many woman do not)."
Dr Goldstein finished up her post by urging viewers to "celebrate that there is a woman brave enough to talk about her vibrator and show it on national TV".
I, for one, am going to try to be less judgmental and also stock up on the disinfectant.
