A toddler is in hospital with severe facial injuries after being mauled by two large dogs at a home in the Blue Mountains.
The three-year-old girl was in the backyard of a home in Hazelbrook when the two rottweilers attacked just before 3pm on Thursday.
She sustained multiple injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she underwent surgery overnight.
She is now in a stable condition recovering in hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Rangers seized the dogs, which are owned by the occupant of the home.
Nine News reports that a neighbour raised concerns with the local council about the dogs, telling authorities that she had heard dogs attacking a smaller dog a few weeks ago.
