If you’re entertaining this holiday season, add a little something handmade to your holiday table.
These little forest animal place card holders are sweet, simple, and are guaranteed to charm your guests. Dress up the rest of your table with some cozy pieces and you’ve got the perfect setting for a seasonal celebration.
What you’ll need:
Miniature plastic forest animals
12 mm split rings
Needle nose pliers
Awl
Silver and gold metallic spray paint
Step 1:
Using the pliers, open up one end of the split ring and bend it back. Straighten it out as best you can. It should create a tail that’s about half an inch long.
Step 2:
Make a hole in the back of one of the animals with the awl. Find the center of the back and carefully apply pressure, twisting the awl a bit as you go.
Step 3:
Insert the bent end of the split ring into the hole. If it’s not stable or falls out, repeat Step 2 with the awl until the hole is deep enough to hold the ring.
Step 4:
In a well-ventilated area, cover the animal and the ring with a coat of spray paint. After the paint dries, check all angles to ensure that the animal is fully covered. Repeat if necessary.
Step 5:
Allow paint to dry fully, and insert a place card in the ring. Make a whole set of animals and set them at your guests’ seats for dinner!
You're done!
