'I tried the famous Dior lip balm that looks different on everyone. Here’s my review.'

You know the feeling when you find a Really Bloody Good beauty product? When you just know it’s going to be one of those staples you never want to be without??

Friends, I don't want to get ahead of myself - but the Dior Lip Glow *might* just be one of those products.

But you might already know that. You might've seen it doing the rounds on TikTok or Instagram. You might have purchased one. Swiped it on. Obsessed over it.

Watch: You know what else I tried? Lube. On my face. Really. Apparently it's supposed to be the ultimate hack for seamless makeup... Here's what happened, anyway! Post continues below.

OR, you might be on the fence about whether to try it or not. Because the thing is - as with most ‘viral’, jazzy products, sometimes it’s really hard to know if you can trust the hype.

Well, good news for you. I tried it so you don’t have to!

Dior Lip Glow recently slid across my desk - and it's one of those products I've wanted to try for ages. I'm already a big fan of the Dior Lip Glow Oil, so I was keen to see how this would shape up.

Here's the lowdown.

What is Dior Lip Glow?

Good question. On the website, it claims to ‘subtly revive the natural colour of lips with a custom glow for six hours and hydrates lips for 24 hours' - which is a hefty claim, to say the least.

Although it's not a new product, the lip balm was recently released in more shades. Now available in nine colours, ranging from pinks to peachy hues and browns, Dior Addict Lip Glow can be worn on its own as a lip balm or as a primer under lipstick.

Here's what she looks like in the flesh:

Cute!

It contains ingredients like shea butter and sunflower and rice waxes to hydrate and nourish the lips, without feeling heavy or sticky.

The cult formula also contains a clever technology that matches to the pH of your lips - giving you a complete customised colour. Which is a very cool trick.

Retailing for a rather spendy $60, it's currently available online at Dior or Adore Beauty.

So, how did you go with it?

The shade I received was 028 Minty Rose. It looks clear/pearlescent, so I didn't really know what to expect. It kind of seemed like it wouldn't offer a huge deal in the colour payoff front. But I'm also not a big lipstick girl, so a subtle hue is usually my preference.

My lips have been super dry (as always), so I was also hoping the hydration promises pulled through.

The aircon in the Mamamia office is usually blasting like a champion, so that means I'm often slapping on lip balm constantly. And ooft - what I would give to not have to run into meetings and podcast recordings with my lip balm in tow.

Here were my lips before application.

She's flaky.

And here were my lips immediately after:

She's juicy!

I don't want to point out the obvious but HOW MUCH BETTER DO THEY LOOK? And they felt good, too! Immediately more hydrated and comfy. I still found myself reapplying it after every few hours - but honestly, it just made my lips feel really nice and moisturised.

The thing that impressed me the most though, was how it adapts to the pH of my lips.

This beautiful pinky sheen is literally the perfect shade for me. It just gives them the right amount of colour with a nice and subtle shine.

The cool part? Obviously my shade will be different to your shade - it's a completely custom colour on everyone's lips.

Also - no stickiness! No hair clinging to your lips in the wind! The joys.

I tried it for two weeks straight and wore it to work, beauty events and weddings - and mercy. It was good.

The verdict.

Okay, but I think this just became a staple in my makeup bag. Outrageous, I know - we've only known each other for a couple of weeks.

Especially because it's coming from a girl who has been known to have approximately 47 lip products on the go at the one time.

But gosh - I haven't stopped applying it since it arrived on my desk.

Honestly, all the proof is in the current state of it:

It's been a rough two weeks for Dior Lip Glow.

Would I recommend? Absolutely.

It's an expensive lip product for sure, but I feel that if you're like me and not a huge fan of lipstick and bold colours, this is the perfect option for a 'no makeup' makeup look. And I love how you can easily build it up for a bolder, more pigmented look - it's very versatile.

Not only will it keep your lips hydrated and happy, but it gives you that subtle hint of colour that just makes your lips look... better.

I'll be back for more, Dior Lip Glow.
