'This viral TikTok skincare brand just launched an overnight face repair cream. I tried it for $22.'

Look, we all know the drill. You're mindlessly scrolling TikTok at 1am when suddenly a product appears that EVERYONE is raving about. You immediately add it to your cart and pray it lives up to the hype.

I've been burned before by viral products that promised the world and delivered… well, disappointment in a fancy package. So when Dermal Therapy — a brand that's been blowing up on my FYP for months — released their new Overnight Face Repair Cream for $22, I approached with cautious optimism.

If you're unfamiliar with Dermal Therapy, they've gained massive popularity for their affordable skincare solutions. Their heel balm and lip balm are cult favourites, regularly selling out in stores across Australia. And if you've seen their Overnight Lip Repair Mask all over your TikTok feed, you're not alone — after being recommended by skinfluencer Roj Torabi, it's sold out multiple times.

I've personally been using their lip balm throughout the colder seasons and it's one of the few products that actually delivers on its promises.

What exactly is Dermal Therapy's Overnight Face Repair Cream?

According to the brand, this isn't just another night cream. It contains more than 30 ingredients, including hyaluronic acid, ceramides, peptides, collagen, vitamins and antioxidants. The product claims you'll "wake up to visibly smoother, firmer and deeply hydrated skin", with results in just eight hours.

My immediate thought: That's a lot of promises for something that costs less than my work lunch in the CBD.

Now, don't get me wrong — I'm a big fan of budget-friendly skincare, but there have been times when the more affordable products I've tried ended up having either fewer active ingredients or lower concentrations.

So when I learnt about this product from Dermal Therapy, I was intrigued by the ambitious ingredient list.

How did you go?

I incorporated the cream into my nightly routine for just over a week.

The texture surprised me — it's rich but not heavy, with a silky consistency that feels more expensive than its price tag suggests. It absorbs relatively quickly without that tacky residue some night creams leave behind.

The scent is mild, which I appreciate because strong fragrances in skincare put me off. There's nothing worse than trying to fall asleep while your face smells like a perfume store.

After the first night, I noticed my skin felt more hydrated the next morning.

By the third night, I began to see more noticeable changes. The dry patch near my nose had improved significantly. My skin felt more balanced overall — not as tight in some areas and not as oily in others.

What impressed me most was how my skin's texture seemed to improve. I have some fine lines around my eyes that are more noticeable when my skin feels a bit dry.

After a week with the Overnight Face Repair Cream, they appeared softer — not gone, but definitely smoother.

Did I wake up looking like I'd had an expensive facial? Not quite. But did my skin look better than it typically does after using my regular night moisturiser? Absolutely.

What works well about this cream is its versatility. It feels substantial enough for my drier areas but doesn't overwhelm my T-zone (oily skin girls will understand). The formula seems to address multiple concerns at once — hydration, texture and overall appearance — making it perfect for nights when a complicated skincare routine isn't an option.

What could make it even better? On particularly dry days, especially when it's cooler or windy, I found a little extra application worked wonders. The cream is rich and absorbs quickly, so it's perfect for most days, though really dry skin might appreciate a bit more hydration.

The verdict.

After a week of consistent use, I'm genuinely impressed by Dermal Therapy's Overnight Face Repair Cream, especially considering the price point. It delivered noticeable improvements to my skin's hydration, texture and overall appearance without causing any irritation or breakouts.

Is it comparable to the high-end overnight treatments I've tried? In many ways, yes — the results are competitive with creams costing three or four times as much.

Would I recommend it?

If you're looking for an effective overnight treatment without breaking the bank, absolutely. It's particularly good for normal to dry skin types and those dealing with seasonal dryness or fatigue.

Will it replace every other product in your routine? Probably not. But for $22 it offers impressive value and genuine results.

I've already added a second tube to my cart for when this one runs out — which might be the highest praise I can give any skincare product.
