Denise Richards has been granted a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers, after alleging he physically and emotionally abused her throughout their six-year marriage.
In court documents obtained by People, Richards shared photos of bruises and made details of allegations of repeated assaults.
"Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back… and hack into my laptop and phone and download all of my text messages," Richards alleged in the filing.
"Aaron regularly threatened to 'break my jaw' and would cry, beg me to stay, and promise to get help — none of which ever happened."
Richards alleged Phypers caused her "at least three concussions" and that she was too afraid to report the alleged abuse sooner, claiming her ex "repeatedly threatened to kill himself and me" if she went to police.
According to Richards, the most recent assault occurred between July 4 and July 14.
Her legal team has requested Phypers pay her legal expenses and attend a 52‑week batterer intervention program as part of the restraining order conditions.
Phypers has denied the allegations, calling them "harmful and baseless claims".
"Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone," he said in a statement to People.
"These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. Denise and I, like many couples, have faced our share of challenges, but any suggestion of abuse is categorically untrue. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect."
