Cocaine, affairs and threesomes: Everything we learnt from Demi Moore's book, Inside Out.

If you’ve spent some time on news sites the last few days, you will have likely seen the name Demi Moore popping up once or twice or thrice.

She’s….everywhere.

That’s because she wrote a tell-all book about her life and dropped quite literally all of the bombs. There’s no shame, there’s no holding back, it’s just good old fashioned honesty and secret spilling at its best.

Demi was raped at 15 and her mother was allegedly behind it.

Growing up, Demi’s mother Virginia King suffered from alcohol and drug addiction.

She’d fallen pregnant with Demi as a teenager, and her father had disappeared by the time she was born.

One night, Demi returned home to find an older man in the apartment who raped her.

While attacking her, Demi says she was asked by her rapist, “How does it feel to be whored out by your mother for 500 dollars?”

“For decades, I didn’t even think of it as rape,” Moore wrote in Inside Out. “It's something I caused, something I felt obligated to do because this man expected it from me.”

Demi nearly burned a hole through her nostrils.

In the book, Demi is candid about her relationship with drugs and alcohol.

“The problem was, when I did have a drink, I couldn’t stop; there was no little voice in my head saying, That’s enough, Demi. There were no brakes,” she said of her dependency on alcohol as a young woman.

While living in Brazil to film Blame it on Rio in 1984, Moore says she developed a cocaine dependency, which eventually “nearly burned a hole through my nostrils”.

Soon after, she found herself in rehab, and began a long period of sobriety.

She cheated on her first husband the night before their wedding.

Demi has been married three times, and was just 18 the first time she walked down the aisle to Freddy Moore in 1980.

In the book, the actress details her whirlwind marriage with the musician which lasted five years.

“The night before we got married, instead of working on my vows, I was calling a guy I’d met on a movie set,” the now 56-year-old wrote. “I snuck out of my own bachelorette party and went to his apartment."

“Why did I do that? Why didn’t I go and see the man I was committing to spend the rest of my life with to express my doubts. Because I couldn’t face the fact that I was getting married to distract myself from grieving the death of my father. Because I felt there was no room to question what I’d already put in motion. I couldn’t get out of the marriage, but I could sabotage it.”

Bruce apparently wanted her to be a stay at home mum.

Demi married her second husband and father of her three children Bruce Willis in 1987 when she was 25.

In the book, Demi claims her former husband was jealous of her then blossoming career.

“This is never going to work if you’re off shooting a film," Moore says he told her when she scored a role in the Robert De Niro film, We’re No Angels.

Ghost was Demi's next big break, but it came at the expense of her relationship, with Bruce telling her "I don't know if I wanted to be married," as her career grew from strength to strength.

Demi spoke of Bruce "craving excitement and novelty" after their relationship moved quickly from romance to marriage and children.

"Basically he wanted to do whatever the f*ck he wanted. He was 36, throw in celebrity and money. You do the math," she said.

Demi told him to 'go' but he couldn't commit to breaking up the marriage or to Demi.

She writes about visiting him on set but sensed he had had affairs  - and was still furious with her for going back to work.

She claims she took Jon Cryer's virginity.

Demi claims Jon (of Two And A Half Men fame) lost his virginity to her while the pair were filming No Small Affair in 1984.

Demi expresses regret in the memoir for being "callous" with Jon's feelings at the time and "that I stole what could have been such an important and beautiful moment from him".

But the fellow actor (who weirdly went on to star alongside her third husband Ashton) has come out on Twitter to dispute the claims.

"While I'm sure she was totally justified making that assumption based on my skill level (and the stunned look on my face at the time), I had actually lost my virginity in high school," he said.

The twin daughters of George Bush did "bong hits" at her house.

In chapter 18, Demi describes how she and her children moved into Ashton Kutcher's home while their LA pad was being renovated.

Apparently before the family arrived, Ashton's house had been a "straight up party house".

"Prior to our arrival it had been a straight up LA party house... George Bush was President at the time, and somehow his twin daughters ended up doing bong hits at that house at one of Ashton’s parties," she wrote.

"He was sure the Secret Service was listening in on his calls from then on," she added.

At the time Jenna and Barbara Bush were both at university and had already been making headlines for underage drinking.

She had a tumultuous marriage with Ashton involving miscarriage, cheating and threesomes.

Possibly the most damning claims in the book are about Demi's third husband Ashton Kutcher, who she was married to for eight years.

She talks about their courtship and says despite the age gap, they had an instant connection.

"He was 25. I was 40. But I’m telling you: we couldn’t feel it. We were totally in sync, from our very first conversation," she wrote.

"When I met Ashton it almost felt like a do-over, like I could just go back in time and experience what it was like to be young, with him – much more so than I’d ever been able to experience it when I was actually in my twenties."

Demi's three children embraced Ashton as their third parent referring to him as "MOD" (my other dad).

Ashton popped the question six weeks after they found out Demi was pregnant, but she lost the baby at six months.

"I can’t even bring into words how lost, empty, desperate, confused [I was]. I really lost sight of everything that was right in front of me, which was the family I had," she wrote about her miscarriage.

She has since shared a never-before-seen photo of her bump during an interview with Good Morning America.

The couple went on to try IVF on numerous occasions but none of the sessions worked.

After losing their child, Demi talks about slipping into a depression and breaking her 20-year sobriety.

She talks about being "humiliated" by Ashton, who she says used to share photos of her drunk and passed out as she battled alcoholism.

"It was [..] confusing. Ashton had encouraged me to go in this direction. When I went too far, though, he let me know how he felt by showing a picture he'd taken of me resting my head on the toilet the night before.

"It seemed like a good natured joke at the time. But it was really just shaming."

Ashton came under fire at the time, but responded with "It was a bikini, not underwear, you could see that at the beach".

Demi also details Ashton's desire for group sex in the book, and talks about how she obliged and agreed to threesomes because she wanted to seem like a "cool wife".

"I put him first, so when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn’t say no. I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be. They were good people, but it was still a mistake. I was strangely flooded with shame, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this whole thing was somehow my fault," she wrote.

She also talks about cheating allegations, which have long been rumoured and reported about in the tabloids.

In 2010, Demi claims Ashton cheated on her with a 21-year-old he met while bowling with her daughter, Rumer.

"This felt like a ‘f*** you’. Because we had brought a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he’d done."

The second time Demi alleges Ashton cheated she says she found out via a Google alert when Sara Leal, 22, did a tell-all interview about the alleged affair.

The couple split up shortly afterwards.

Ashton's not happy with Demi's claims and allegations, writing on Twitter, "I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter and wife and I deleted it".

He followed up with a tweet that said, "For truth text me +1 (319) 519-0576," and has this morning started posting links to the 'illusory truth effect' asking America to "listen closely to the repetition" and to "do the research and make up your own mind".
