But what many have found particularly moving are the final words Reynolds shared with her only surviving son Todd Fisher just before she died.

“The last thing she said this morning was that she was very, very sad about losing Carrie and that she would like to be with her again,” Fisher said.

Speaking to TMZ, he said his mother commented, “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie,” almost willing herself to join her daughter.

“Fifteen minutes later she suffered a severe stroke,” he said.

Reynolds was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in a fair to serious condition, and passed away just hours later.

“The only thing we’re taking solace in is that what she wanted to do was take care of her daughter, which is what she did best,” said Fisher.

Debbie and Carrie leave behind granddaughter and daughter Billie Lourd. The 24-year-old is also an actress, known for her popular role in Scream Queens.
